His voice sends more pain through me, all the emotions from his rejection coursing through me. I had almost forgotten the sound of his voice. Or maybe I just wanted to forget it.
"Oh you're nor going to cry now, are you? Pathetic. This is why you're not my mate! My mate will be a beautiful, strong Luna. Not some, ugly pathetic loser." He spits out, his voice filled with hate.
"Im not pathetic." I whisper, unable to look him in the eyes.
"What was that loser I didn't catch that?" His mocking tone makes my eyes shoot up at him in a hard glare. I can feel all of my anger flare through me in an instant. Giving me the courage to pull myself back up from the ground.
"I am not pathetic!" I scream out at him, the intensity making the nearby trees shake.
In an instant, the rest of the trees begin to shake, the ground starting to crumble beneath me.
"Jaelyn wake up." A familiar voice rings out from behind me. Just as I turn towards the voice, a tree comes crashing down on top of me, crushing me.
I jump up in a sweat to see Ethan standing above me with wide and worried eyes. Reaching up to my cheeks I can feel the tears. Oh no, I had another nightmare.
"Are you alright?" Panic fills his voice as he speaks, reaching his hand out to grab mine. I shake my head no letting a few small sobs out. "What is it?" His voice is soft and sweet, like his hand in mine.
When I don't respond he pulls me into him, taking me in his arms. The comforting gesture seems to relax me slightly. The sobs have stopped but the pain is still there, a dull ache in my chest. As I look around, I notice that Im not in a bed, I'm on the floor. Ethans office floor to be precise.
"What happened?" I ask him confused, looking him in the eye.
"I told you that you are a white wolf and you- you just sort of, fainted." He answers, scratching the back of his neck nervously. "Then you started shaking and talking in your sleep." He added with a sad look.
"What did I say?"
