However, how in the world could life possibly be that easy? I frantically touched whatever was in sight for a good ten minutes, but there was no other vision to be seen. My mind was completely blank.

I sighed in frustration and ran a hand down my face, pacing the length of the room and ignoring the two scorching gazes that watched me closely. At this point, I couldn't be bothered with either one as I continued mumbling nonsense beneath my breath as if I had gone crazy.

"To think a werewolf could teleport... that's so rare, I'm surprised this pack has so many divergent wolves. Their strength would rise tremendously because of this."

Liza came to pace along side me, carefully listening in on my ramblings with open ears. She frowned at my words and asked, "Divergent wolves?"

I absentmindedly answered her as I waved a dismissive hand, my mind mulling over our situation and calculating our next move.

"Divergent wolves are wolves that has a magic ability. It's extremely rare... if you overlook this pack, other packs will probably only have one or maybe none at all. These wolves typically inherit the ability to control the elements and rarely do they gain any other ability besides that. I would've never thought that Bea was one of the rarest... I didn't sense a single thing on her when we met... it's peculiar... perhaps she's a late bloomer that just discovered her ability? But if so, as a little four-year-old, why didn't she run to her father? What are we missing?"

"Wait, so Bea has the power to teleport? Is that what you're saying?"

I stopped to glance across at her in annoyance, "yes, keep up." Then began pacing again.

She rolled her eyes at me but began musing, "how in the world are we supposed to get her back from Michael of all people? We don't even know where he is."

"Ah," the sound left my lips as an idea flashed into my mind. It was far fetched... but hopefully it would get me somewhere. It was time for me to do what my people were specifically created to do.

Communicate with the Gods.

But should I really?

Growing up, I never quite understood why we had to be forced to sit around and wait for instructions from some narcissistic Gods who cared not for their own people but only for the 'balance' of the world. If they wanted to look out for the world that badly, why didn't they do it themselves? Why did we need to subject ourselves to servitude that we could never abandon unless we wanted to die?
