Layla POV:
When I got home that night, I decided to tell my family what happened with Sin. Needless to say, they weren't happy.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" Lucas spoke up first. "Lucas." Dad warned him. "No! Fuck that prick! He hurt you, Layla and I'm not okay with that. How could you even consider this after everything he's done?" Lucas asked, slamming his fist on the table. "He regrets it, Lucas." I replied.
"You don't know that! What if he said all of that to get in your head and break your heart all over again?" Sandy asked.
"Sandy, stop it. He is Layla's mate." Uncle Sam told her. "I don't care! He hurt her!" Sandy yelled standing up abruptly and walking out.
"This is bull shit, Layla and you know it." Lucas said before storming out of the house.
I sat on the couch, across from my parents, aunt and uncle.
"Are you sure this is what you want, sweetheart?" Mom asked. "You'd do the same for daddy. You know you would." I said calmly. She didn't say anything, knowing I had a point.
"We support your decision, baby. We just don't want you to suffer anymore." Dad told me. "I know daddy. I have to try though." I replied.
"You're a great girl, Layla. He better do his damnedest to make it up to you." My aunt Ellie said. "He will. I know he will." I told her before going upstairs to my bedroom.
My brother and cousin don't understand. They haven't found their mates yet so I can't make them.
I know what I'm doing is risky and I know Sin could be playing me but I had to try.
"He won't let us down again." My wolf spoke up. "I hope your right." I whispered back.
The next day at school, Lucas and Sandy didn't say much to me. They wouldn't accept my choice and I couldn't make them.
"Layla?" I turned to see Sin and smiled softly at him. "Hey." I said. He smiled back at me. "Everything okay?" He asked. I shrugged and looked down. "I told my family about yesterday. They weren't happy. Lucas and Sandy haven't said a word to me all day." I told him.
He did something I didn't expect. He hugged me. "I'm sorry, baby. This is all my fault." He whispered.
I sighed and pushed him away lightly. "You really meant what you said yesterday?" I asked him. "I meant every word. I will prove it to you." He said, softly.
I hesitated before answering. "One chance, Sin. Only one." I said timidly, making him smile.
"Thank you, baby." He said before taking my hand. "Walk to class with me?" He asked. I smiled and nodded at him, letting him lead me to our first period.
"You okay?" He asked and rubbed my back.
"Since when the fuck do you even care, Fisher?" My brother blurted out, standing.
"What is your problem?" Sin asked him, trying to stay calm.
"My problem is that you treated my twin sister like she was nothing and now all of a sudden your this caring and attentive mate that she desperately wanted you to be?" Lucas balled his hands into fists and I could tell he was fighting off his wolf.
"I messed up. I know that. Can you not see that I'm trying to make it up to her?" Sin asked him. He too was starting to lose his patience.
"You don't deserve her forgiveness and I won't allow you to see her!" Lucas yelled.
I slammed my hands on the table and stood up to face him. "Lucas!" I yelled. "Layla!" Sandy stood up then. "Enough!"
Two kids born to an alpha have worse tempers than the others. When two get into an argument it's damn near impossible to break it up without the pack alpha.
"You are so stupid Layla! He's going to hurt you again!" Lucas yelled. I lost all control and my wolf took over, taking up for her mate. I finally stop fighting and she threw a punch to his temple.
