Alpha Mate Series novel Chapter 42

Layla POV:

My wolf's punch had Lucas stumbling, almost hitting the ground. When he got his senses back his eyes glowed a very bright blue. He stood to face me, we were an inch from each other.

"Don't you ever do that again." He growls. I threw another hit but Lucas caught my fist and twisted my arm behind my back.

I could see Sin stand but Adrien held him back. "Don't get in the middle of it. It won't end well." He mumbled. "He's hurting my mate!" Sin yelled.

I slammed my elbow hard into Lucas's chest, knocking the air from his lungs and turned, hitting him again.

"Don't ever talk about my mate like that!" I yelled. "I'm your brother!" Lucas yelled at me. "You're disrespecting my mate, Lucas!" I yelled, pushing him.

He stopped controlling himself and threw a punch at me but I ducked and slammed my fist into his stomach.

He grabbed both of my arms, twisting them behind my back and slams me on the table. I was stuck.

"Call Alpha Cross! Now!" One of the staff members called out.

Lucas pulled me up and pushed me away from him. "Come on, you fucking bitch! Hit me again!" He yelled. I tried to hit him again, but he caught it and this time I'm the one taking a punch to the stomach.

I fell to my knees and groaned. "Get up!" Lucas yelled. I glared up and him and lunged, wrapping my hands around his throat and slammed him on the table, his head hitting it hard as I wrapped my hands tighter around his neck. He was starting to have trouble breathing.

I jumped away from him when I heard a loud growl. Lucas and I turned to see our angry father, stalking towards us.

"What the hell is wrong with you two? Your siblings for Christ sake!" He yelled. "Dad!" We both yelled but, stopped when growled loud again. "Do you have any idea how embarrassed I am? Do you have any idea how upset your mother got when we got the call you two were fighting! No! You will be an alpha in a matter of months, Lucas Alexander and you will behave as one!"

Dad turned to me. "As for you, young lady, you just tried to kill your brother! Not only will he be an alpha, but you will be a Luna and you will have to leave us when you are! Do you want to hate your brother and then regret when it's too late?!" He yelled at me. "But-" He growled again. "Enough! Both of you get your asses home and I swear to Goddess if this happens again, I will strip you of your title, Lucas!"

"Mom, I'm.." "Don't." She said growling lightly. The infamous rage filled Luna O'Connell, up and personal. I'd never seen it before and it was nerve wracking.

"Do you have any idea what you two did today?" She asked me. "Yes, momma." I replied. "That fight could have gotten both of you stripped from your titles. Your siblings and now you are abkut to be a leader of a pack we have been on very good terms with for years. Seeing as everyone knows you are the future Alpha's mate, they will judge you for your behavior. What you did today, no Luna does, Layla Rae." Mom said.

"I understand." I whispered looking down, ashamed.

"Sam I had our differences, but we respected each other. As you and Lucas should do. None of this happened until Sin showed up." She said.

I began to get angry. "Mom.." I started to raise my voice but her arms dropped, eyes glowing bright and growled loudly at me. "I swear to Goddess, if you yell at me like you did your brother, I will never let you see that boy again. Is that understood?" She asked, scary calmly.

"Yes, momma. I'm sorry." I whispered. "You're grounded, Layla. You and Lucas both. You are not to see Sin outside of school until your father and I say so." She said before slamming the door behind her.

I threw myself on my bed and cried. How could I be so stupid?
