Layla POV:
The next morning, I slowly walked into the kitchen and saw mom and dad, talking. They were talking about Lucas and me.
"Hey." I said softly, making them look at me. "Morning." Mom said. Dad didn't acknowledge that I was in the room.
"I'm really sorry about yesterday." I told them. "It's over now. There's nothing more to talk about." Dad said before leaving the room. "Alex left already so I'm taking you to school." Mom said. I stared down at my hands. "Thanks, momma." I said quietly and walked to the car.
I was at my locker before first period, when I felt two strong arms wrap around my waist. The tingles I felt gave away who it was and I smiled.
"Hey, baby." Sin said softly before kissing my cheek. "Hi." I said before hugging him.
"Rough night?" Sin asked. "Yeah. I'm grounded." I told him. "Ouch. For how long?" He asked. "Until my parents say so." I replied and looked at him. "That sucks, baby. I'm sorry." He replied.
"Hello, Ms. Anger management." Adrien said when we walked into class. "Hey." I said quietly before sitting down. "Hi, Sin." He said, reluctantly. "Hey."
I'm glad they were trying to get along. It did make me feel somewhat better.
Sin POV:
Layla was depressed all day. My poor mate was going through this because of me. Her brother and cousin still aren't talking to her and it's taking everything not to lash out at them.
My first class without Layla was torture. I missed her like crazy, and the fact Cindy was trying to be all over me didn't help.
"Do you want to sneak away and have some fun at lunch?" She asked me. "No thanks." I said, not sparing a glance at her. She huffed and crossed her arms. "Since when?" She asked.
We ate lunch alone together that day. We received hard glares from a lot of people.
Ellie and Lucas were glaring at me the entire time, while Cindy, Rachel and all their friends glared at Layla. I'm so sick of all this. I need to do something about it, but what? Do I go to her parents? Being the alpha and Luna of this territory, they may be the only ones that can do anything.
When I got home that night, my mom walked up to me. "Hey, honey." She said before kissing my cheek. "Hey, ma. How are you?" I asked her.
I loved my mother. She is hands down the best Luna our pack has ever had. She was a much calmer version of Luna O'Connell.
When we sat down for dinner that night, my dad turned to me.
"Do you have anything to do tomorrow night?" He asked. "Not that I know of. Why?" I asked. "Alpha Cross invited us to dinner and we accepted." He replied. Fuck.
