Sin POV:

"What the hell do you mean! What happened to her?!" I yelled, panicking. "Hunters happened. She was shot in the chest with a silver bullet." My father replied.

I hesitated before asking my next question, knowing I wouldn't like what I hear. "Dad.. Is... Is she going to be okay?" I asked. He couldn't even look at me. "Dad, tell me she's okay!" I yelled angrily.

"They give her until morning. You should say your goodbyes." My father said as his voice broke before walking out the door.

"No.." I whispered.

"I'm so sorry, baby." Layla said, from behind me. I turned to her and buried my face in the crook of her neck. "Come with me?" I whispered. "Of course." She replied.

Layla POV:

I drove Sin to his pack house without hesitation. I couldn't believe the pack Luna was dying. This reminds me so much of the story about my grandparents.

I can't help but look at Sin and see the pain all over his face. I felt it so strongly that I began to silently cry for my mate. He didn't deserve this. No one did.

"I love you, Layla." Sin said weakly before looking at me. I smiled sadly as I watched the road and took his hand. "I love you too, baby." I replied softly.

When we reached Sin's parents'room, Luna Fisher, had nurses surounding her, keeping her comfortable. She was pale but looked oddly peaceful.

I looked up at Sin and saw tears streaming down his face. I heard his wolf whimper loudly as he walked to his mother's side.

"Layla? Can I have a moment with my son and wife, please?" Alpha Jack asked. "Of course, Alpha. I'm so sorry all this happened." I said before slowly exiting the room.

I stood in the hallway, leaned against the wall as I absent mindedly watched the wolves in the pack walk by the Luna's room. Some would whimper when they passed and others contemplated going in.

I heard the flat line of the heat monitor seconds later and ran into the room. Nurses were holding Sin and his father back as they tried to save the Luna's life.

"Mom!" Sin yelled before I ran and wrapped my arms around him.

The nurses and doctors tried, but to no avail, Luna Smith lost her battle.
