Layla POV:
"He's not ready! He just lost his mother and he's losing his father rapidly. He can't handle all of this at once and I won't ask him too!" I scolded all of them.
"Layla, thousands of wolves will die, soon we will be on the verge of extinction if we don't act now." Mom said.
"Does Alpha Fisher even know about this?" I asked. "Yes. He was the one who suggested the two of you take over." Sam said. "Why didn't he tell us?" I asked.
"He wanted to tell Sin in private and for us to talk to you." Sam told me. "He's not ready." I repeated. "You don't have a choice!" My father yelled.
"Alex! There is no need for you to yell at her!" Mom scolded him.
Sin POV:
"Dad, are you sure there is no other way?" I asked. I wasn't ready for this. Too much has happened all at once.
"I'm sorry, son. I know this is hard for all of us. Now this war. I really do wish I didn't have to dump all this on you. I'm sorry." He repeated.
"Dad, I get it. I do. You're in no condition to fight which is why I'm not objecting. I'll do this... For you." I replied before leaving the room.
What will Layla think? I know for damn sure I'm not ready. Is she? Dad was right when he said there was no other way of doing this. The pack needed and their Alpha and Luna if there was any hope of coming out of this alive. I had no choice. My mate and pack come before me, every time.
I met up with Layla later that day to talk about is taking over the pack.
"Are you sure you're ready, Sin? So much has happened." Layla said. "I know, but they're right. There's no other way. We have to do this." I told her.
She sighed before nodding. "I'm with you, Sin. All the way." She said making me smile lightly. "They set the ceremony up to be held next week." I told her causing her eyes to widen. "Okay." She said hesitantly.
Layla POV:
Next week? My dad and uncle taught me how to fight but I could be a lot better. I had to train before the ceremony and dad offered to do it.
I looked at my mother, then. "Anyone else I can soar with? Looks like Sandy will be busy." I said laughing.
"I'll do it!" Lucas said. "No way! I don't want that happening again." Mom told him.
"Mom, we're cool. We won't go too far." I told her.
"We'll start with dodging first." Lucas told me. "Human or wolf?" I asked. "Human first." Lucas told me.
"Layla. I told Dorian to come and get you." Dad said as he jogged up to me.
I pointed over to Sandy and Dorian. "Oh." He said raising his brows.
"What's up?" I asked. "We're having a meeting. I need you and your brother." He said. "Okay." I replied before following him.
