Lucas POV:
I took a deep breath before knocking on Alpha Smith's door. When he opened it he bowed as did I.
"Thank you for agreeing to meet with me Alpha Smith." I said before stopping to smell the area around me.
The most amazing scent hit my nose. It smelled like lavender.
"Mate." I whispered when I looked to the top of the stairs case and saw the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen.
She had dark red hair the frames her face perfectly with bright green eyes. Something was off about her though. There was pain hidden behind them.
"Charlie what are you doing out of your room?" Alpha Smith asked.
"Charlie." I said, loving the way it sounded.
We slowly walked toward each other and stared.
I smiled softly at her before speaking. "Hello, Charlie." I said. She bit her lip shyly before responding.
"Hello Alpha Cross." She said softly. I smiled wider hearing her beautiful voice. "Lucas." I told her.
She smiled widely at me. "Hello, Lucas."
"It's great to finally meet you." I told her.
"Charlie I asked you a question." Alpha Smith said a little too harshly causing me to growl slightly.
"Watch your mouth Alpha Smith. That's no way to treat a woman." I told him causing his jaw to drop.
I turned to him before speaking again. "Your daughter is my mate." I continued.
This caused the Alpha to frown in disprovel. "Her?" He asked with slight disgust in his voice.
"Is that a problem?" I asked, trying to keep my composure.
"How could this girl be your mate?" Alpha Smith asked harshly.
A few hours later there was harsh knock on the door before my dad opened the door.
"Alpha Cross wants to see you." He said through gritted teeth.
I smiled and walked right by him knowing he can't touch me without Lucas finding out.
One day. One day, I would tell him what I went through but not here.
He smiled, seeing me walk downstairs. "Are you hungry?" He asked.
"Are you asking me on a date?" I asked with a slightly surprised tone. "Well yeah. I would like to get to know you." He said, the smile still on his face.
"I'd love to." I replied. "Alpha, I need her here to-" Lucas, again cut my father off mid sentence. "To what?" He asked before looking at me. "Would you like to grab a bite with me or stay here?" He asked.
"I could eat." I told him. "Well then, let go, shall we?" He asked before offering his hand to me.
I took it without question and we headed out to enjoy our date.
