Charlie POV:

I was so nervous the entire dinner. I was afraid that I would say something wrong, so I stayed quiet most of the time.

"Aren't you hungry, beautiful?" Lucas asked. "Not really." I said softly.

Lucas leaned closer to my ear. "Don't be afraid. Eat, beautiful. You need it." He whispered. I smiled gently at him before forcing myself to eat.

I knew he was right but my stomach had shrank so much that I couldn't eat a lot.

After dinner, I started to help Lucas's mother clean the kitchen.

"Oh, honey, you don't have to do that. You're our guest." Sadie told me. "I want to." I said and smiled.

Lucas POV:

I watch Charlie and mom from the living room. I noticed that mom took an instant liking to my mate.

Charlie was smiling as she and my mother conversed as they cleaned the kitchen.

"I like her, Lucas. She's a nice girl." Layla said as she sat next to me. "Yes, she is." I said without looking away from Charlie.

I looked at Lana who was in my sister's arms and picked her up. "Hey, pretty girl." He said, smiling down at her. She smiled back to me and grabbed my finger, holding onto it, tight.

"Did you miss me?" I asked her. Lana let out a short giggle and rested her head against my chest. I fell in love with this little pup the moment she was born.

"How's Charlie doing, Lucas? She seemed so nervous at dinner." Layla said causing me to sigh.

"You were right, sister. Charlie's parents were abusing her." I told her. "I want them dead." My wolf said. I took a deep breath as I tried to control him.

"Do you think they will come after her?" Layla asked. "Maybe." I mumbled.

"Honey, it's getting late. We should head home." Sin told my sister.

"Thanks for dinner, mom." Layla called out as she got Lana ready to go. "You're welcome sweetheart! I'll see you soon." Mom called back.

I walked into the bathroom to see a jet bath tub along with a shower with glass doors.

"I have a guest room you can use if you would be more comfortable." Lucas told me.

After sleeping next to him the night before I didn't think I could sleep without him again.

I bit my lip, nervously. "You okay, beautiful?" He asked me. "Yeah. I actually like sleeping next to you, Lucas. Is it okay if I sleep with you?" I asked. "Of course you can." He whispered and lead me to the bedroom.

"I'm going to take a quick shower. You can get ready for bed okay?" Lucas said. I nodded with a small smile.

He turned to walk to the bathroom. "Lucas?" I asked, making him turn. I took a deep breath and kissed him gently on the lips.

This was my first kiss, so I had no idea what to do. I felt him gently place his hands on my face and kiss me back.

"Thank you." I said softly before gathering my clothes to change. I heard his wolf purr loudly and I smiled to myself.
