Along the whole ride to Steven's place, Angela was lost in one though and that thought alone. How the hell was she to survive living with Steven?
Steven had returned home late in the evening. He had to make up for the lost time he spent pondering about his stupid action of that morning. He chastised himself for letting it go that far with Angela. Yet he had no restraint. She tempted him. Her little body still tempted him. All the while, he kept reminding himself that she was the woman who had hurt him too. That Angela was his ex-wife after all.
Before he had gone up to his condo, Steven had asked the concierge if Angela had left the building since his chauffeur escorted her in. The concierge declined seeing her since. Angela must be in her bedroom, he thought when he was greeted by utter silence in his condo.
His feet unknowingly took him towards Angela's bedroom door. He listened closely for a minute. Until he heard a sniffle followed by muffled cries. And he couldn't stop himself from opening the door and peering inside.
Angela sat on the floor by her bed like a fetus. She was weeping. Her face was a waterfall of tears. He had never in his life seen her like that. He rarely ever had seen her cry.
"Angela." His voice was low. Soft as he knocked on the door
Her startled gaze darted at Steven. Immediately like shocked, she wiped the tears away with the back of her hand. Then as if she suddenly remembered what she held in her hand, she quickly stood quickly and hid her hands behind her back.
Steven caught her movement and her startled gasp. Saw her trembling nervously, heard her shaky breathing. What was with her? What had she hidden?
Cautiously he took small steps towards her. She stepped back just as he did. Until she had no where else to go. She was literally backed up to the wall. She was trapped. He stopped before her, close enough that his breath blew the stray hair on her face. His head tilted to peek behind her at the hands she concealed between her body and the wall.
Oh, dear. Her heart began beating twice as fast, felt her heartbeat drumming in her ears. "Don't." Angela begged him as she shook her head frantically.
But his curiosity took over him. His hand slipped behind her. Angela pivoted her body to obstruct him but he had already took hold of her hand with a tight grip and made her bring her arm forward.
Steven saw her knuckles were white with the tight clutch she held onto the photo frame in her hand. Yet still, he easily managed to take the frame from her.
And when he flipped it around and saw the photo, Steven was utterly and entirely stunned.
"What the hell is this, Angela?" Steven demanded with a hard hand smashing with force to the wall beside her face.
The room was still for a minute. Angela stood before Steven like a solid statue. Steve's mad eyes went from her to the photo in his hand. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. He had seen a photo of Angela and Tony before. But with a baby in her arms?
His temper began to spark. "Is he Tony's son, Angela? Answer me."
"Yes, he is. Isn't it evident enough in that photo? Now you know all you wanted to know, now give it back."
Steven shook his head, with a scoff. "And you said you didn't cheat on me."
"I didn't." Angela defended. "I didn't cheat on you when we were married."
"Oh, so you must have been glad we divorced then. You finally got to be with Tony."
Angela trudged away from him. She couldn't handle the venom he shot at her with his every word. Tears threatened to fall again. Then she heard a chuckle from behind her.
"I'm so curious to know how he feels to know you're here with me now. Or did you make his mother keep it a secret? Though if he knew he'd already have come knocking on my door with his fist ready to punch me straight in the nose."
