Steven set his fork down. "I couldn't stop thinking last night. I took you away from your son."

Angela was stunned at his admission. She rarely ever heard him admit to something. "Yes, you did."

"Where is he now?"

"Luckily he was at Grace's house when you and my father showed up and brought me here. He's still with her."

"Who's Grace?"

"Tony's mother. He loves spending the night with her and his uncle Jimmy. That's why I called her when you brought me here."

"What's his name?" Steven inquired. His interest was evidently honest.

"Daniel." The mentioning of her son brought a instant warm smile on her face.

"Does he look any like you?"

Angela shook her head. "He doesn't. Not one bit."

"That's a shame. I bet a tiny version of you would be beautiful."

Angela's breath caught in her throat. His statement appalled her. She didn't speak. She couldn't speak.

"Do you want me to bring him here?" Steven offered.

"No." Angela said a little too fast. "No, definitely not. He's better there with Grace and Jimmy." Angela pushed her plate away. "I agreed to stay here to protect him."

Steven's eyed bulged, his brows rose in astonishment. "From what? From me?"

Angela choose to remain silent. She rose from her seat, went to the sofa again. Steven wiped his lips with the dinner napkin before following her. He crouched before her. Said nothing. He had no idea what to say.

Angela's pleading green eyes met his surprisingly gentle grey ones. Her hand set on his shoulder. "Please don't tell my father. He'll take him away from me."

Reluctantly, Steven nodded to her. "If that's what you want."

It was past midnight when both Angela and Steven were still wide awake in their separate rooms. Both wondering about their kiss. It had been... wonderful. It had been so good it messed up with how they felt for each other and every other thought in their mind.

The annoying unceasing ringing of a phone awakened them from their beds. Neither one of them was surprised to see each other awake when they met outside their doors.

Steven went to the phone on the wall, pressed the speaker button. The concierge's voice came through the speaker. "Sir, excuse my interruption of your night but there's a man here insisting on speaking to your wife. Said his name was Jimmy and it's important."

Angela practically ran beside him. "Jimmy's here?" The grin she wore was too big. Until she stopped herself still. This was Steven's place. Only he decided who was welcome and who wasn't. She doubted that after the one time Steven had met Jimmy he would allow him into his living room. Plus she doubted he'd accept anyone from her 'old life'.

"Send him up." Steven surprised her with his reply.

Her grin appeared again wider on her lips again as she nodded gratefully at Steven before she ran by the elevator. Steven loved seeing the happiness on her face. And surprisingly, it didn't bother him as much he'd expected that he wasn't the reason she was on cloud nine.

The elevator door was barely fully open when Angela ran to Jimmy who immediately caught her in a big bear hug. "Oh, Angel, I've missed you."

"I missed you too." Angela pecked his cheek a dozen times. "How did you find me?"
