Jimmy let Angela down. "Wasn't easy but listen, I've wasted enough time looking for you so I'm just going to get to the point of why I'm here. Daniel's in hospital."

"He's going to be okay." Jimmy assured Angela for the hundredth time while soothing her with the brush of his fingers in her messy waterfall of hair.

Angela sat in the backseat wrapped in the solace of Jimmy's arm, biting nervously on her thumb nail. Her heart seemed like it might stop any second. She had to see her son. "I should have been there."

"You couldn't have done anything still." Jimmy stated as he locked his angry glare with the grey eyes that were surveilling them from the rearview mirror. Still he kept his calm, for Angela's sake.

Steven focused his eyes back on the road. Since they had left his condo, he'd been driving recklessly, breaking all the laws of the road and he didn't care. He had to take Angela to the hospital. He had to take her to her son. The guilt of separating Angela from her boy was enough to be smacking him hard in the face. If anything happened to that boy without Angela being beside him, the guilt would eternally eat him up.

As soon as they arrived at the hospital, Angela ran down the corridors. She didn't need to ask for direction. She had gotten so used to being there she could find her way with eyes closed.

At the waiting room, Angela was greeted with a engulfing hug from Grace. "Oh, Angel. You're here. He hasn't stopped asking for you. You have to go see him."

Without another word, Angela went straight to the room Grace pointed to.

Steven was left with Jimmy and his mother, both giving him their best menacing look. Grace was a burly short old lady with unkempt curly hair who's deep glare made her even more menacingly. If her eyes were swords, Steven would be dead already.

"So you're Steven, huh?" The woman sneered as she wobbled to approach him, to check him out closely.

Grace and Jimmy stepped into the room. The old woman laid a comforting hand on Angela's shoulder. Her angry face was gone and replaced with the agony of a mother similar to Angela's. "Had the doctor come speak to you yet?"

"No." Angela shook her head without wavering her gaze from Daniel. "Did they tell you anything?"

"You know they can't tell us much." Grace spoke with evident sorrow.

Jimmy untangled his crossed arms. "I'll go ask around for the doctor."

After Jimmy left, both women remained in silence watching over the young boy.
