Chapter overview: Chapter 14 from Daddy's Little Angel
In this standout chapter of the Internet novel Daddy's Little Angel, soulreads05 introduces new challenges, powerful emotions, and major plot progress that captivate readers from beginning to end.
Ever since the argument, things has gone from sweet to bitter real fast. I knew my Angel could hold a grudge but this intense? How did we grow so apart?
Her words keep resounding in my mind. "I hate you..."
Could she possibly mean what she said? I hope not.
I really regret all I said to her. I just wanted to hurt her the way she was hurting me. I wanted to defend my self. Its true that I haven't been a good father but that doesn't give her the right to rub it in my face.
I know that's not an excuse, but that's all have got.
Angel is barely home anymore. Always says she's got this slumber reading thingny with girls from school which I could have stopped her from going, but decide to cut her some slack.
She rarely eats. This I know due to the untouched food stuff. And how has this been telling on me?
I can't seem to function. I long to hear my baby's musical laugh. Miss her fiery tongue. Her blue eyes. I miss being a father to my little girl. The saying "you only value what you have when it's gone " is so true. Now I know. Cause I'm at the receiving end.
I don't know what to do. I want my daughter back. But am not sure I wanna risk my pride. How do I make her understand that Nora makes me happy? How do I make her realize that, me not wanting to see her around this new guy is for her own safety? Am I willing to compromise? Talking of compromise, what will I be willing to sacrifice? Nora? Or seeing my daughter head over hills for some teenage boy?
All this questions swim around in my mind. Tearing me apart.
"Mr Westfield!!"
I all but jumped out of my sit with the loud bang that came from my desk. Coming back to earth, I see a flustered, frustrated and troubled Nora standing nest to me nearly out of breath.
"Miss Nora?"
"Sorry, I did knock. But got no reply, so I decided to come in cause it's a matter of importance"
"So why the heavy breathing and need to bang my desk?" I angrily asked.
"After entering, I've tried all possible means to get your attention but all seem to fail. I have been at it for about ten minutes sir." "I was lucky this last tactics worked." She said all at once making her to run out of breath.
"Oh...what's so important then?"
Quickly composing herself, she said; "your meeting with Mrs Willows is scheduled at 3pm sharp. And you've got less than half an hour left. That includes driving and preparation sir."
"What are you waiting for? Let's get going then!" I said out of frustration and panic. I never forgot important things like a billion dollar worth contract. Not till now. With that realization, I knew the answers to all the question in my head.

The meeting was over for now, and all I wanted was to go home. I still find it surprising though, as to how a teenage girl could make me a mess. It's just strange why I feel this disorganized. She's just a child. My child. I should be in charge. But I guess the opposite is the case around here. Strange enough, I wouldn't have it any other way.
"Mr Westfield?"
"Huh?" I said looking towards my left. I had forgotten Nora was there.
"You seem to be off today sir. I know it's not my place to ask, but is everything alright?"
"What have I said about calling me sir?" I asked
"Sir! I- I, mean-"
"Go on a date with me." I said stopping her stammering
If I thought she had big blue eyes before, what I see now is much bigger.
"Sir?!" She said in shock
"We have an event at mum's place this Saturday, I want you to come along. Has my date."
"Bb-Buu-but sir, why me?"
"Noting much, cause I want to and I can."
"Bu-"
"No buts"
"Mum will be upset if you don't come."
"And Angel?" She asked out of the blue?
"What about her?" I said slowly.
"What's her take on this issue,"
"She's not a threat. As you know, she is a teenager with an adult mind I'm sure she'll understand. It's your take on this that matters."
"Sir, you've made it clear that like it or not, I will be going with you."
"Of cause, I meant what's your take on us trying out on a relationship?"
"A what?" She screamed.
"Yes, you heard right."
Taking in deep long breath, she lowers her head and fiddles with a fingers. Something she does when she's nervous
"Sir,I need time." she whispered.
"Nora, I may not dig BDSM, but I swear, if you call me sir like a good submissive pet one more time, I won't stop my self from spanking you." I whispered right into her ears. Making her jack her head up. Looking at me with shock and embarrassment.
"Am sorry Jack."
"Say that once more Nora..."
"Jack..." She said in between ragged breaths.
At this time, we were only a breath away from each other. With our nose almost touching. And breaths fanning each others face.
Looking at her ocean like eyes seem to only draw me in deeper.
Holding her right cheek in my hand, I move my face closer to hers. All I want to do is kiss her senseless. But instead, I whispered into her ears, you're such a good girl. I may have to introduce the spanking into our bedroom activities. Nibbling her ears which got me a shiver from her, I composed myself the best I can, focusing solely on driving us to our destination.

Home isn't home any More, but I manage. It's surprising Angel is at home when I arrived and has made no plan to move. Guess this is the stage where she is threatening me with her presence. It's her silent message that she's not going to run from me anymore. If I'm not comfortable, I should leave.
This makes me smile, if things were different, I would probably tease her of acting like an angry girlfriend.
My smile seem to turn downward at remembering things are not the same.
A crack sound was heard from the kitchen. It must be Angel trying to snick into the kitchen. Busted!
"Is that a yes? That you agree?"
"I guess." She said with a look of indifference. Like either I said this tonight or not, she was going to do what she wanted.
"Angel?"
"ugh?" She replied
"come here." I said to her. Opening my arms wide.
"No." Was her simple reply.
"Angel.." I said with a warning undertone.
"Looking at me challengingly, she moves backwards. I sprint forward chasing her around the house making her laugh her heart out. She fell to the ground and I took that as an opportunity to jump on her. Earning me a groan."
"Get up. I. Can't. Breath." She said.
"Say you love me."
"I. Hate. You"
"Alright then. I'm comfortable right here."
"No! Get off me you old dog!"
"Who are you calling old and a dog?!!"
"Say you love me."
"Never!"
"Angel..."I whispered into her ears. Putting all my weight on her. She made a sound close to a moan.
"Say you love your Daddy please." I groaned my plea. Now I was looking into her eyes and she, mine. Both of us lost in our world. Struggling to breath.
"Angel.." I said out of breath.
"Jack..."she said whispered. Something else was behind the way she said it. I can't place my hands on it.
"No. Not Jack." I said
"What then.."she breathed out.
Touching a strand of hair that fell out of place, has her closing her eyes and me observing her features. So fragile, so demanding, so angelic,so perfect. My baby, my Angel. It seems my body has a mind of its own cause what I did next, I didn't plan.
I started from her forehead, trailing kisses down to her eyes, her nose, and finally close to her lips. Only to realize that she was looking at me with an emotion I can't point out.
What was meant to be innocent kisses brought a new energy current that I am yet to understand fully.
"I love you dad. I really do. Crazy and all."I heard her say in that sweet innocent five year old voice that I always fall in love with.
Holding her close to me I turn us around so she was on top. "I love you to darling. Always..."
In that moment I really wonder if I needed any body else aside her. I feel complete. Even now, Nora who I claim to like, doesn't cross my mind. Why?
