In this standout chapter of the Internet novel Daddy's Little Angel, soulreads05 introduces new challenges, powerful emotions, and major plot progress that captivate readers from beginning to end.

Things didn't really get better immediately, but they did eventually.

It took another round of confrontation to stop Angel from harming her health.

If there is someone who needs to be hurt, let that person be me. She could do whatever she want with me but why hurt herself ?

I'm glad she started taking care of herself more. She now eats before heading to work. She no longer leaves for work ridiculously early. Though she still comes home quite late, at least she doesn't come home completely drunk. A little tipsy? Maybe. I can't ask for more, I mean, a man's luck doesn't get better than this.

We don't talk much but she's no longer as cold and distant as she used to be.

You can say we made a pact and came to a compromise. To me, I'd say our relationship now is no different from house mates. I don't like it, but I don't hate it either.

As long as I can get to see her at home more often, I take whatever I can get.

I don't know if she does it on purpose, but her clothes or lack of it this past few months has kept me up at night a time too many.

It's like a teasing sequence.

First she started covering up more. Only leaving some specific areas of her skin uncovered.

Other times she just goes all out leaving close to nothing for the imagination.

Do you know that feeling of having something but not really having it at the same time? Knowing you can only look but not touch?

That's what I've been reduced to....a fucking mess.

I hope I can keep my sanity with this sweet painful torture.

I was in the process of preparing dinner when Angel appeared by the kitchen door.

As she steps into the kitchen, the fist thing I took notice of was her outfit. It was quite different. looking cute and yet sexy in a subtle way.

"What are you doing dad?" I heard hear ask in between my clouded thought.

"You...."I unconsciously found myself saying."

"Ugh?"

"I'm making you and I dinner." I rephrased.

"Oh...what should I help with?" She asked not noticing my slip up

"It's all good. I can manage." I replied.

"Are you sure?" She asked again to confirm.

"Yes of course honey, just go freshing up and I'll call you when I'm done." I assured.

"Alright. I'll be in my room if you need me." She finally relented, heading back to her room without even a slight glance my direction.

I couldn't keep my eyes off her as she made her way up the stairs with a sad smile on my lips.

Angel never let's me cook when she's around but I guess now it's different.

Lots of things are different now...

When was the last time she gave me a genuine smile that reached her eyes? I can't even remember the last time she laughed. When was the last time our skin touched? It hasn't even happened by accident. Not even as little as a brush of hands.

I miss having her cook for me as I hug her from behind. I miss our cuddles, or banter. I miss everything I made us loose.

It didn't take long for dinner to be ready and the table set. I decide to go call Angel down.

I didn't bother knocking and just went right in.

And there stood Angel in the middle of the room just freshly out of the shower with a short towel wrapped around her frame. Body still dripping wet.

I watched intently as a dropplet of water from her chin dropped and slowly went down the middle of her cleavage and disappeared into the towel

"What are you looking at?" I heard her aske.

"You..."I said breathlessly.

"If that the case my eyes are up here" she said raising my chin up to look directly into her eyes.

I didn't know how we come to be at such close proximity. I remember standing at the door. If it was me who moved closer or she was the one, I can't say but all I can say is I love the view from up close.

"I'm sure you do" I heard her say with a cocky smile

"Did I say that out loud?" I thought to myself Or I thought I said to my self till Angel answered me once again..

"Yes you did" came her reply.

"Oh shit." I muttered.

"What do you want?" I heard Angel say as she turned away from me and made her way to the full length mirror. Picking up an hair bush, and a blow dryer she began to blow dry .

"Ughnm, dinner is ready." I told her.

"Oh, you go start dinner, I'll join you as soon as I'm done." Came her reply.

"I didn't move an inch. I just kept my gaze on her body. It was the most beautiful painting in the room"

I watched how the towel Crawls up her tighs as she raises her hands up to blow dry her hair.

After a moment Angel noticed I had no intention of leaving, she paused and turned around to look at me a bit puzzled by my action or inaction.

"Dad? Is everything ok? I said I'll join you when I'm done. You don't have to stand here."

Ignoring what she said, I took slow purposeful steps towards her direction.

"D-dad, ww-wa-what are you doing?" She stuttered.

"I said nothing, acting like I heard nothing till I was close enough.

I wasn't having any of it. I walked towards her hugging her from behind before she made it to her closet.

Angel, don't run from me. I promise the kiss was an accident. Though I won't lie, I want to kiss you again... actually I'll love to do more if you let me..."

"I know you haven't forgiven me and I don't have right to demand this things from you, but fuck Angel... You drive me insane. I can't help but want you. I know I sound like a self centered prick but you know without a doubt how much you mean to me."I explained in a low voice.

"Babe I'm sorry. I know sorry can't change the fact that I hurt you and broke the trust you had in me, but can you please let's go back to how we were? Can we start over? Please love, l need you... I love you, and I'll fucking go insane to if this goes on for much longer." I confessed, pouring out my heart to her. I was so clouded by my own raging emotions I didn't notice Angel silently crying as her whole frame shook sightly.

"What is wrong baby? Did I hurt you?" I asked worriedly as I Quickly released my grip on her to turn her around and get a better look.

The sight of sad blues looking me straight in the eyes made my heart ache. She was silent for a while before she finally spoke.

"It hurts Jack...it hurts right here..." she whispered, pointing to were her heart is located.

"Baby I know, I ruined everything. I'm sorry." I said wiping her tear stained cheek which only seem to make matters worse as she now burst into a new set of tears

"Angel I...." I started but couldn't say more because I had nothing to say at this point .

"I hate you..." She declared without batting her eyes.

"I know...bu-" I started but got cut off

"I hate you, but not for reasons you think..." She began to say.

"I hate you because I can't get you out of my head."

"I hate you because everything reminds me of you, of us..."

"I hate you because that's the only thing I can do to stop myself from hoping and my heart from breaking"

"I hate you because I can't fucking stop my treacherous heart from Loving you."

"I hate you because I don't know what else to do."

"I hate you be-"

She began to say but I cut her off by placing my lips on hers.

The kiss started tentatively slow as two heavy hearts tried reaching out to communicate their pain, regret and declare their love. As lips and tongue tried to familiarize with each other anew. So much emotion was poured into that kiss yet the pace remained slow. Eventualy after what felt like hours, we broke the kiss as we both let out a sigh.

Tilting her chin up to look at me, I wiped her tear stained cheek.

" When you don't know what else do apart from hating, hate me.

Hate me, but don't you ever stop loving me."

"If one day you end up falling out of love for me, I promise that my love would be enough for both of us 'cause I can't and won't stop loving you Angel... never" I confessed and with that, I pull her into another kiss.

And just like that, dinner was Long forgotten as two people in the guise of darkness cooked up a scene far more delicious than any dinner.
