Ryan not only brought me on the business trip but also his secretary, Grace. This past month, Grace had appeared with increasing frequency.

Under Ryan’s indulgence, she had begun to act as if she were the CEO’s wife.

For instance, even though this trip was supposed to last only three days, Grace had packed an enormous suitcase. You’d think she was going on a vacation.

As Grace passed by with her heavy luggage, she cast a quick glance at me before immediately launching into her complaints to Ryan.

“Mr. Ryan Caldwell, this suitcase is so heavy, and my high heels make it difficult to carry.”

Ryan, clearly irritated, responded with a curt command: “Throw it away.”

Unfazed, Grace continued to hint at Ryan, “I see Emma Carter has empty hands…”

Ryan picked up on the hint immediately and turned to order me, “Help her with the suitcase.”

Grace flashed a bright smile and pushed the suitcase toward me, saying, “You look like you could handle two suitcases without breaking a sweat. This one should be a breeze, right?”

I smiled and simply walked past them. “I have tendinitis; I can’t carry it.”

Immediately, I heard Ryan’s angry shout, “Is carrying a suitcase going to kill you? Come back!”

I ignored him. He was just a target of my mission in this game; did he really think he was so important?

Ryan caught up with me quickly, gripping my wrist and demanding to know where I was going.

But where could I possibly go other than the hotel?

Seeing Ryan’s anxious expression, it was clear he was worried I’d slip away if left alone, so he brought me along.

Was he afraid I’d run away and wanted me to witness his public displays of affection with Grace?

Her gaze became complicated when she saw me, burdened with numerous bags.

Since Grace couldn’t attend the drinking party due to her ankle, she used that as an excuse to leave me at the hotel, under the pretense of needing to be looked after.

Once Ryan left, Grace and I were left glaring at each other.

I considered going out for a meal, but Grace spoke up suddenly, “You and Mr. Ryan Caldwell don’t seem to be married. If he abandons you, you won’t even get a share of the assets.”

Was she now thinking about my future, believing that I was no longer a threat? Or was she genuinely concerned for me?

But the wealth and fame they valued meant nothing to me.

I scoffed, “I don’t care. If you want it, take it.”

In this world controlled by the game system, Ryan as a charcter had to follow the script. How could a minor character like Grace lay claim to anything?
