"Thank you for what was probably the best birthday I'd ever had. I see Scott's got some competition."

"Someone had to set standards around here." I shrugged. "So what's it like to be eighteen?" I cooed, pinching his cheek. "My baby's finally a man."

"I feel manly."

"Boo! I want sentimentality! What are your goals and aspirations!"

"Why?"

"I wanna know where your heart is."

He stared at me for a while before leaning in and taking my lips. "Wherever it is, I know that it'll be okay as long as you keep it safe for me."

That was sweet. And I was about to say something when his face fell and eyes dazed away.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing, actually." He shook his head. "That was Scott mind-linking me. Nichole's having the baby." He smiled.

"I need help!" Scott moaned as he rushed out of the room. "I think she broke my hand!"

"Well, she's in labor," Stella said matter-of-fairly. "And broken hand or not, you should be in there with her!" She grabbed his ear.

"She doesn't even want me in there!" Scott quickly said. "She wants Hanna!"

Everyone turned to me and I slowly munched on the bag chips in my hand, my mind already made up. "I'm not going in there."

"You have to!" Scott pleaded. "If you even care about my life you have to go in there!"

"I'm not the father here. And I'm not trying to get my hand broken. Jenalee's already bandaged up Liam, Adam, Sage, Mike and Devin. I'm sure you can spare your other hand."

"Ahhhhhhhhhh!" Nichole screamed.

"I think she's calling you," I smirked and he gave me a betrayed look.

That's for ratting me out to Sage.

As soon as he opened the door a lamp came hurdling inches past his cheek.

"YOU'RE NOT HANNA!" She screamed.

Honestly, the only reason I went was because I didn't want Nichole to hurt anybody. If she took out the boys that easily, then who knows what she'll do next.

"Heyyy!" I smiled, closing the door behind me. "Aren't you a pregnant looking thing."

"There something you should know before I have this baby."

I gasped. "Don't tell me you cheated on Scott and it's not his kid!"

"No!" She hissed. "It's about what you're mother said the day we met her."

"My mother said a lot of things."

"Warning three?"

"And when it happens, one will die, and one will be taken."

"How can anyone one of us forget?"

I've seen a person give birth before in health class, but never in real life. Watching that baby come out was the most amazing thing I've ever seen. But it was the moments after that that reached my heart.

For some reason, I felt like I was intruding on their little family of three. Something about the intimacy and love didn't need my presence. I was about the leave what Nichole asked me if I wanted to hold her. My nodded was tentative, only because I never held a baby before. She looked so small and fragile, and I was afraid my newly found strength might crush her.

But as I held her, my worries vanished. The feeling that consumed me lit my heart in pure happiness. It's was if she represented everything pure and good left around us, and without it, we'd all be lost.

She stirred in my hands before her eyes fluttered open to mine, but what happened after that froze the blood in my veins.

Crap. Sweet motherfucking shit.

"Hanna?" Nichole said. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah." I lied, handing her back the baby. "I just forgot I had to do something."

Shit.

Shit.

Shit.

Shit.

Shit.

The war is a lot closer that I thought. I can't believe she was right. But how the hell did they get in?

I pushed the door to the library open and began rummaging through anything and everything I could find on Tylon. It was hours before someone came down and saw me banging my head and pulling my hair in frustration.

"Is there something I can help you with my Queen?" The old man bowed.
