Damn. Guess I deserved that.

She was storming over to me, Scott hot on her trails and trying to get her to calm down. I prepared myself for the worst because knowing Nichole, when she's upset, she let you feel the wind, heat, and storm. And the fact that any normal mother would be upset if I took her child, Nichole was a wolf. Her wrath would be vengeful.

"How could you! How dare you!"

"I'm sorry. I-"

Then she slapped me, but she looked more shocked than I was.

I held my cheek. "Nichole..."

"Hanna, I..."

Scott took the baby from her. "Maybe you guys should do this somewhere less public."

"Yeah." I breathe out.

She took my hand, drawing me to the side of the house. "I'm so sorry." She cried. "I don't know what came over me. I promise I didn't come over to do that, I was just gonna yell and-"

"It's okay." I smiled at her. "I'd be upset too if you stole my baby."

"It's not okay. I knew we have the Raiders to worry about so-"

"Nichole, I practically kidnapped your child. I'd say we're even."

"Why'd you do it, though?" her brows furrowed. "You dragged her out of my hands, you broke Scott's hand when he tried to get her back, you locked yourself in her room. You wouldn't let me see her-"

"He's here. The Raider"

Her eyes widened. "Did you see him?"

"Not necessarily." I sighed. "I had a vision about Azulon being taken but I didn't see his face."

"Then that mean he must still be here. At the party."

Her cries filled my ears as he ran off into the woods. By then it was too late, other Raiders began boring through the shield as Alaric bleed terribly on the table.

"The baby." I gasped. "Where's Scott?"

We rushed back to the backyard to see that everything was still going fine, and Scott and Azulon were being swallowed by the crowd as the first time I saw them. Everyone was still fighting to hold her but that's what scares me. If the Raider is in that crowd, he could grab her without me seeing him first.

I told Nichole I'd keep watch but to look out for anyone that didn't belong. I didn't tell her about Alaric, I didn't tell her he would get hurt, I didn't tell her the shield would go down the weaker he got. I barely told anyone anything actually. I have one chance of catching this guy and if he panics, he could kill anyone around him to get away. Or worst, he could kill Azulon. If she was so important that they want her, then what could she do for us that we didn't know about?

"Oh my god!" someone screamed and I gripped onto the pitcher of fruit punch.

"Before when Sage said I kept asking for you, I didn't really think about it. I didn't know I already knew who to look for, I didn't know, the Raiders would use a child."

"April don't." I heard Connor said as the wall off of people next to me rippled and they poured through.

"Let me go, Connor. Don't you see what's happening! She's making it seem like he did this!"

My eyes snapped to hers and she froze, but I could see the anger and fear puffing in her chest. "Because he did," I said, and I knew she believed me.

"Why would I do that to Alaric?" Vin scoffed.

"Because you're not Vin. Not anymore. I barely saw you since I came back with Troy and Alaric, and when I did, you pretended like you didn't see me."

"I didn't I have to talk to you. You were my brother's friend, not mine."

"Understandable." I shook my head. "But couldn't you even acknowledge your own Luna?"

He remained silent.

"You're not Vin." I sneered. "What happened to him?"

"I am Vin."
