Oh. And here I thought I was special or something...

"You were both made for each other and in time, had to find the other, which obviously already happened. And like I said before, people don't choose who their will their mates will be, but they choose whether to accept them or reject them. And in your case, you sort of-"

"Rejected him." I cut her off.

"I wouldn't use such a strong word!" she mused. "And it's not like you said you wanted nothing to do with him."

I groaned. "I might as well have. He probably hates me now."

"Don't be ridiculous! He's been going crazy every since Jason took you! He didn't even want to talk to anyone unless the conversation had to do with you! I can promise you he does not hate you. I know Sage. If he doesn't care about something he won't give it a second thought." she assured. "Hanna, he does care about you."

"Okay, I believe you."

"But, I do have a question for you."

For me?

"How do you feel about Sage?"

My eyes widen at that question. How the hell am I suppose to know how I feel about the guy? I barely even know him!

I swallowed hard. "I...ugh-"

Just then the doors burst open revealing a hyperactivated Toby.

Thank God!

"Sage and Nichole are back! Sage and Nichole are back!" He giggled and ran out the door.

"TOBY, don't run!" She scolded. "Hanna, we'll have to finish this conversation some other time."

"That's fine Mrs. Fis-I mean, Emily." I smiled

"Good." She smiled. "Oh, and you do know you're gonna have to talk to him right?"

I sighed, "Yeah. I was kinda hoping you'd do it for me. But since he's already here, I guess I have to do it then."

"Yep."

"Great." I sang sarcastically.

"Don't worry about it, you'll be fine." She said, walking through the door. "And don't stay up here too long, he'll start to get worried." I heard her voice descending the stairs.

Oh gosh... What now? I'm in his room, I can't escape him! Do I stay here? Do I leave? What should I do? I should hide in the bathroom. Yeah, let's do that!

I made a dash from the bed, almost falling on my face in the process. I quickly untangled my legs from the sheets and stood up. Immediately I took notice of my appearance. I was wearing a large shirt that ended mid thigh, and a pair of white socks. I definitely wasn't wearing this before.

Who the hell changed me?

Hearing a soft knock on the door I jump, out of fright. "Are you okay in there?"

"Yeah, I'll be just a sec!"

I ran over to the toilet and flushed it. I had to make it seem like I actually took care of my business.

See? My brain knows when to kick in.

When I pushed opened the door I let out a shrill scream and had to clutch my chest to prevent my heart from jumping through. There, behold Sage, leaning against with door frame with that stupid smirk on his face.

I guess he's back to normal.

"Why so startled, love?"

"Mainly because you're being a creeper!" I hissed.

"That was a nice stunt you pulled awhile ago." he clapped his hands. "Bravo! I have to give you credit, though. You even flushed the toilet for effect."

The look on his face didn't even give me the opportunity to deny it.

"Okay, fine" I glared, crossing my arms. "How'd you know?"

"I didn't hear the sink running."
