As soon I was close enough I lifted him off the ground a pulled into my chest, rubbing his back gently. He wrapped himself around my torso and buried his face in my shoulder, and I realize I wasn't the only one that was crying. I could only imagine what happened to him.

How long had he been out here?

After he calmed down, I planted him to the ground and knelt down, examining him. A gasp immediately ripped through me, almost knocking me over as I took in his appearance.

"Are you okay?" I said numbly.

He shook."No. I'm scared." he quivered.

There was blood, and it was everywhere. But if that wasn't scary enough, it was the words written on his forehead that knock the wind out of me.

I'm coming

I read it over, and over, and over again. The words igniting nothing but fear in my soul.

There's always a freaking plateau!

"It's not his." I heard Scott voice.

"What?" I asked, my mind somewhere else.

"The blood. It's from an animal."

"Why would animal blood be on him? And how did he even-"

"Hanna," he said, cutting me off. "let's go inside. I don't want the two of you getting sick out here."

As if on cue I felt the attack of the cold against my skin for the first time. I guess all my adrenaline ran out. But it didn't matter, I really don't know what brought on the new bond bravery, maybe it was my anger because I wanted to find this person.

I look up to Scott and his eyes were firm and left no room to argue. I picked up Toby and we began to venture inside. Every now and then Scott would look behind him and scan our surrounding as if he was expecting something to jump out.

As soon as we walked through the front door, we were hauled by everyone, Emily and Liam, mostly. But I didn't blame them, I'd be the same way so I wasted no time in handing him over.

"Thank God!" Emily croaked, soothing Toby's hair. "Where did you find him?"

I walked into his room and there he laid in the bed. I couldn't help but think of how peaceful he looked. His face was finally returning to its color and he looked more asleep than poisoned. I cupped his cheek, staring at the boy I became so taken with.

Why does this feel like Deja Vu?

The hurt I was feeling right now was unsettling and soon found myself crawling into the bed with him, laying my head on his chest. If this was me here, I know he wouldn't have left my side until he saw my eyes open. He'd make sure the first I saw when I woke was him.

I had somewhat expected him to pull me plush against him, but he never moved.

In an act of desperation, I winded his arm around me and buried my face in his chest. I felt kind of alone, even though the house was full of so many people. And after all this time of everyone talking about mates, I think I finally understand what they meant.

"I don't know if you can here me," I whispered. "but please wake up."

Nothing

"I really don't know what to do anymore... Jenalee said, that poison wasn't fatal but, someone was obviously giving us a warning considering what happened to Toby. We still don't know how it happened, but Liam's got everyone stationed all over the place. If the person comes back, they won't get away."
