"But we aren't even married yet." I laughed. "Save the tears for the chapel," I ordered. "So how's the baby coming along?"

"Would you think I'm crazy if I said I wanted to keep this little guy in here?"

"Are you telling me you like being pregnant?"

"Well, when am I ever going get to eat so much junk food and never have to worry about getting fat? I could always pull the pregnant card."

"Understandable. So do you know if my... mother's still here?" I got out. I still find it strange to call her 'Mom'. We've never had that relationship.

"Yeah, but you might not wanna go down there," she advised when she noticed me getting ready to leave. "Charlie decided to let Angela in on everything and things were getting hysterical."

"You mean she's down there right now?"

"Yep." Nichole nodded. "And considering she was never a good person to any of us, I feel violated having her here."

"I think everyone second's that. But I feel like we should give her a chance. She was probably just jealous of you guys."

Nichole laughed. "I doubt it. I just can't get over how we left and came back to Nice Angela. What the hell did Charlie say to her!"

"I don't know why you're complaining about this?" I shrugged. "I don't care what he did, he worked a miracle."

"Yeah... maybe it's a good thing. But I for one knows Jess will never accept her."

"Why not?"

Nichole let out a long breath. "There was this accident when they were younger and Jess's brother died. They were arguing and he tried to stopped them. Angela pushed him off the sidewalk but she didn't see the car coming."

"So that's why she hates her." I gasped. "I thought it was just some grudge like stealing her boyfriend or stabbing her in the back."

"Apparently not."

"I should probably get down there," I said, changing the subject. "I'm leaving soon so I don't want to forget to do anything."

"Oh yeah, you told us the other day." She mused. "How long will you be gone?"

"I don't really know. It's gonna be a while, though."

"But you made it out."

She smiled. "I didn't."

I frown. "Why do I feel like you're not telling me everything? If you're not gonna help me, just say it cause every minute we waste brings him closer to death and I can't let that happen. He saved me so many times, and now it's time my turn to pay him back. I owe him that much."

"Then don't do anything." She says. "That's all you need to do. Just let go and focus on the mission if you want everything to work out."

"How can you even say that? You know I can't do that."

"Then you might as well consider us all done for. If you can't let go of him, you will lose."

"But..."

"Go to your father's place." She said softly. "If you want to know, you'll find out there. And Hanna, no matter what happens, don't leave until you find out everything because if you don't, you won't be able to go back in. No matter how hard, how shocking it might be, don't leave." she kissed my forehead, her touch recollecting feeling I never knew existed. "I love you," she whispered, but I didn't say it back. I just watched her leave, hearing her say something about going to see the Alpha. I found myself shedding a single tear but I didn't know what for. I never knew her, there was no attachment, so why did I feel this way?

When I left the pack-house, I did it in a way onlookers might call discreet. I felt the need to not inform anyone of my leave mainly because even a glance from specifically one person, will give me millions of reasons to stay. In a way, I felt that my mother was right when she advised me to let go. But Sage and I have never been this close, this exhilarating and so intimate. I wanted to pretend things would blur away, I want to believe we'll be okay, but I know we won't. Unless I find a way to save him, I'll be widowed before I even get married.
