"I don't know." he cupped my cheek. "I can't."
"I did it for, you know." I started. "I left for you. My mother said if I didn't, then you'd die-"
"Hanna-"
"No." I shook my head. "let me finish. I wanted to be useful for once. I wanted you to see I could save you when you can't help yourself. But most of all, I wanted you alive. Even if I died."
His hands locked with mine and gave them a squeeze. "Then I wouldn't want to live."
I let out a breath. "Too many people here need you. You have to."
"And so do you. You're the Luna now. They need you too." He smiled. "Plus," he added. "We didn't even get married yet so don't you go off dying on me."
"We're really doing this?" I shook my head, the idea seeming so unreal. "I...I can't breathe..." I laughed breathlessly.
He laughed. "Relax, okay? It'll be like were dating, just with the same last name and matching rings."
"Funny." I rolled my eyes. He pecked my lips and I recoiled teasingly. He went in a second time but I jerked backward. One of his hand cupped cheeks again and drew me to his lips. As they molded together, I felt the fluttering in my stomach return. We hadn't been like this since I left and I could only image how it seemed to him. It almost felt like the first time we kissed, but in a way, better.
I ran my hands under his shirt as he kissed down my neck. He grabbed my legs and draped them around his waist as I drew the shirt over his head. I heard clattering sounds before I felt my back hit the cool, mahogany table. His finger brushed against my stomach as they gripped my tank top and ripped it from my body. His head dipped down to my chest and kissed my collar bone. I gasped, tugging on his soft mane. A low growl sounded from him and his head snapped up to me. His dark eyes watched me temptingly, daring me to do it again.
His head suddenly whipped to the door. He narrowed his eyes and he straightened a bit.
"What's wrong-" I tried to say, but he covered my mouth.
"Shhh. Listen." He whispered. At first, I didn't hear anything, but slowly, the giggles and small footsteps amplified.
My brows furrowed and I pried his hand from my lips. "It sounds like...Toby?"
"Shit!" Sages cursed, pushing himself from me.
"What!" I sat up.
"I forgot to pick him up!" He groaned, lifting me from the desk. "Get dressed."
I swear you think with his senses he'd be able to find a shirt.
Sage held up his in defense. "I can explain!"
"Please do," Liam smirked, crossing his arms.
"We just- and things for outta hand-" he fumbled. "and the trophy- and the desk was there..."
Liam just burst out laughing and Sage and I eyed each other. "By the way, everyone's outside. I'd advise you to get dress before your mother comes in here and find out why you didn't pick up Toby." He chuckled and walked out, his smirked never faulting.
I could already hear the taunting we're about to get.
"So was it before or after the table broke?" Mike laughed.
"No, no, no," Devin joined in, holding his sides. "During, man! It's during!"
"I hate all of you." I muffled from Sage's chest. Yeah, Liam told them. Not that I'm surprised. Sage said they'd find out either way cause he forgot to put up a mental wall, so it was better that he told them that they see everything he sees.
