In this standout chapter of the Internet novel Reborn of the Luna, CutieBinkie introduces new challenges, powerful emotions, and major plot progress that captivate readers from beginning to end.

“Still,” I continued, keeping calm, “other packs won’t know the details. All they’ll see is our Luna working with the Lycans. That would make them think twice before messing with us.”

“They’re already afraid of me,” Maximus grumbled, and I had to stop myself from rolling my eyes.

“Can’t deny that,” I agreed, figuring it was easier to get him to leave if I just agreed with him. “By the way, did you need my help with something? It’s not like you to be here at this hour.”

“I—” He hesitated, not sure what to say. He’d known me for so long; I’d been an important part of his life. He shared everything with me, but now it felt like he didn’t even know who I was. “Throw away the gifts,” he finally said, clearing his throat. “I’ll get you whatever you need. Better than what they sent.”

“I’m sure you would,” I said with a smirk. “But that’s not the point, is it? We can’t be rude. Besides, we’ve talked about this. Becca can take whatever she likes. In her case, everyone would understand.”

The silence between us felt thick, awkward, but only for him, not for me.

“You’re handling this better than I expected,” he finally said. I wanted to laugh as I moved behind my desk. He had no idea!

“It’s not like you left me much choice, is it?” I looked at him through my lashes, and he sighed, moving closer.

“Let’s talk about all that, okay?” He sat on the edge of my desk. “I don’t want you to feel threatened by Becca.”

“How thoughtful,” I scoffed. “Max, let’s not do this now. I’m not ready to discuss it.”

“Fine,” he said with a smirk, and before I could react, he grabbed me and lifted me onto the desk, his sudden move leaving me stunned. “Then let’s not talk. Let me show you how I feel!”

Katherine couldn’t believe what he was doing. Didn’t he get that we aren’t in a good place right now? How could he see them having sex after everything?

Surely, he had to be aware that he hurt her with his choices and his actions. He did not know that she had already lived a whole other life and fallen out of love with him. He had to have some idea about human feelings. He brought his future mistress home just one week ago!

“Kat— You look so beautiful today, Babe,” he lowered himself to try and capture her lips, but she dodged him. She couldn’t risk it too much because she did not need him suspicious at this moment in time. However, sleeping with him was absolutely out of the question.

Jacob had been healing her right there just moments before. A werewolf couldn’t miss that.

“You reek of that lycan!” Maximus said angrily.

“And you reek of your mate,” she said the first thing that came to her mind, and it came out wrong.

“Did you do something with him to avenge me for bringing Rebecca into the pack? Is that what your business is all about?” he threw accusations at her one after the other.

“Of course not!” she tried to look appalled even though he was absolutely right.

“Then why do you smell like him?” the Alpha demanded.

“Because my mark was inflamed, and he checked it!” She decided to go with partial truth. After all, Jacob could confirm it for her. “Lycans have the strongest scents. I’ll bet their king’s scent is even stronger than most. So, that’s why it stayed on me.”
