Sam moved closer laying her head on his chest, throwing a leg over one of his. One of his rough hands rested against her smooth bottom. How was she ever going to be okay? She fell into a deep, dreamless sleep as usual when Blake held her close to his gentle beating heart.
Blake rubbed her butt gently as he fell asleep too, Aaron had been right, she would need him, at least until this stalker business was taken care of and he would be there until she turned him away.
Sam's leg rubbed against something rough, her eyes slowly opened, and saw her leg thrown over a pair of jean covered legs. She moved her head slowly against the soft shirt. He stayed with her all night. She would never get used to this, or she would get too used to it. She didn't want to face the day, she wanted to stay like this s all day but knew he had a job to do.
She slowly sat up running her fingers through her hair. She laid her hand against his arm and shook hum gently.
"Blake shot up quickly. "What's wrong?"
"Just the fact you have a job to do is all." She smiled weakly at him.
Blake groaned laying back down against the pillows. He threw an arm over his eyes, he had such a sleepless night, he didn't want to get up and start the day.
"I'm sorry Blake."
He moved his arm a little, his brown eyes locked with her blue-green eyes. He put his other arm around her and pulled her down to him. "It's not your fault Baby," he kissed her gently. "If I had handle things better last night wouldn't have happened." He rolled her onto her back and placed his hands beside her head. "Why don't you try to get some more sleep Baby."
"I doubt that'll happen, after last night I really don't think I can get any kind of sleep without you." She turned bright red
Blake leaned down and nuzzled her nose against hers. "I know, it was worth a shot." He smiled and kissed her passionately.
They heard a clearing of a throat as a knock on the oak door frame came.
Sam and Blake turned to look, they both blushed when they saw Aaron standing there.
"Hey just figured I'd see how things were up here, but from the look of things everything seems to be good. You guys coming down to breakfast?" He was sure he was just as red as they were. He didn't really want to know about his sister's personal life, and he had just walked right into it.
"We're figuring things out Aaron, slowly, but figuring them out, I'll be down in a minute," Blake smiled faintly as he watched Aaron leave, his attention fell back to Sam. "Well that was embarrassing." He smiled at her and kissed her again. "You should try to get some sleep though, I'll do some work and come check on you in a bit."
"Okay Blake, thank you for everything," she smiled up at him and kissed him slowly. She laid her hand against his cheek. "Blake, I love your eyes." She whispered.
He smiled. "Thank you, I'll check on you soon I promise."
She laid there and watched him walk out of the bedroom, pain wrapped around heart tightly making it almost hard to breathe. Would it be that easy when they walked out of each other's lives? She closed her eyes as the tears trailed down her cheeks and fell back to sleep.
Blake went to the kitchen, no shades on and stopped when he saw Brady sitting at the kitchen table.
"Okay, I'm going to go make rounds in a little bit and I may need you to run some errands for me later."
Blake nodded his head as he headed for the stairs. He stopped in the doorway of Sam's room. His heart sped up as his breath caught. God she was so beautiful, she was so peaceful in sleep finally. He strolled over to the bed slowly and sat down. His beautiful Sam, he reached out to brush a strand of hair from her face. Her eyes flew open and smacked Blake's hand away. "Honey, I'm sorry."
Sam gazed at him very confused, still groggy from sleep. "What's going on?" She sat up slowly.
"I was just checking on you, I'm going to start work, I'm sorry."
"It's okay just confused I guess, I'll be out in a minute."
You don't have to, you can take a R and R day."
"No I want to help." She laid her hand against his cheek, the days' worth of beard rubbed her hand roughly but she loved it. She gazed into those brown eyes of his, she loved seeing all of him now.
"Okay babe, give me a bit to shower and change, I'll be up to get you." He kissed her rubbing his thumb against her cheek. He headed downstairs and out to the barn where he showered and changed. He rushed back up to the house just as Sam was walking out.
They took hands like they'd been doing it for years not a week. They started taking the other horses out then started the cleaning.
