She was trying to calm down but nothing was working. She tried to talk herself down but it was impossible. She was miles away though and there was no way he knew where she was either. She threw the blankets off, grabbed her heels and headed down to the living room as quietly as possible. Once she made it out the front door and shut it quietly she slipped into her pumps. If it hadn't been so chilly out she wouldn't have bothered with the heels.

She looked up at the dark clear sky sprinkled with so many tiny little dots. She smiled, she missed this, being able to see ever constellation possible when it was like this. In Denver she didn't get this pleasure at all. She continued to walk, still trying to erase the nightmare she had had. She stared at the dirt path that led from the house to the barn, she didn't know what but something was pulling her towards the barn. She opened the door slightly and slipped in, she fumbled around for the light switch and turned on one row of lights. She walked down the aisle just taking in the scent of saw dust, hay, and horses. It smelled so good, why did she leave this? She stopped when she saw a gorgeous black stallion. He was pacing back and forth, snorting a little.

Sam laid her elbows on the door and put her chin in her hands. "You are just as restless as me huh? Must be that kind of night." Her gaze stayed trained on the beautiful horse.

Blake jumped out of bed when the lights turned on above him. He looked around quickly, he hadn't heard anything just the lights flashed on and it was only one row. He walked to the edge of the loft he stayed in. his heart sped up when he saw Sam in the same heels, black skirt and red silk shirt. Goose bumps rose all over his body as he remembered the feel of her body against his and the silk beneath his hands as he had rubbed her back. Then her scent, oh boy that scent of flowers drove him crazy both times he held her. He pushed the thoughts away hastily as he grabbed his shades and put them on again. He had to know why she was up this late. He headed down the ladder instead of the steps and made his way over to Sam.

Sam jumped and spun around fast when she heard the noise behind her. She screamed and moved backwards, seeing the shadow coming towards her, she ran into the stall behind her hard, the force knocked her forward.

Blake caught Sam in his arms again. "Hey, easy Sam it's just me Hun." His hands gripped her hips gently steadying her.

"Blake?" She gasped out as she looked up into those stupid black sunglasses. She gripped his forearms tightly. She couldn't help but let her gaze rake over his tan, toned, shirtless body and the dust of hair that trailed below his sweatpants that hung on his hips in a very delicious way. She licked her lips when she looked back at his just as tan face, she didn't let go of him and she was glad he didn't let go of her.

"Yeah, it's me are you okay? I didn't mean to scare you." He should have known better than to sneak up on her like he had. He was sure he almost made her pee herself, he was a complete idiot.

"I'm fine, wha-what are you doing here so late?" This man was so baffling, why would anyone wear sunglasses at almost tow in the morning? She wished she could just look into his eyes, just to see if he was actually looking at her or was totally dismissing her.

Sam wanted to run, he was too mysterious to trust. She backed up into the stall door cautiously as his hand on her waist tightened but his hand on her shoulder loosened. "Is it a big deal I came out here by myself?" She didn't know where this was going, what if he was going to try to do the same thing as Brady had.

"No, most people are just more careful, I guess I'm more surprised, even out here can't be too safe anymore." He kept his hands on her but made no other moves, he could see the fear in her eyes and that wasn't his intention. He sighed as he let go of her. "Look, I'm sorry I scared you or anything, let's start over, are you sure you're okay?"

Sam stared down at the ground, he let her got but she still had her hands on his arms, she squeezed them a little as she thought. Was she okay? From the attack earlier and the incident with Brady she didn't think she was, but from getting scared by Blake because of a misunderstanding she supposed she was. "Yeah I'm fine." She mumbled, she had no real choice but to be.

Blake put a finger under her chin gently to make her look up at him so he could stare into those gray eyes. He smiled faintly as he put her hair behind her ear, trailing a finger down from the curve of her ear to her neck, lingering on each bruise mark. "You know we're going to be close together while you're here, if you need to talk I'm here and I'll listen."
