"Kevin! Kevin get up, it's not safe around here." I finally recognized that voice. That touch, pressuring on my shoulder. I turned to my left with tearful eyes, staring hopelessly at Gabriel. My Beta.
At least he was alive but it wasn't enough to drown my pain and anger.
"I swear on my Father's grave, Alpha Jason is going to die today!" I bellowed while I arose with clenched fists.
"Will you stop chattering about revenge and save your life first!" Gabriel pitched exasperatedly. I grabbed his collar, close enough for our breaths to collide.
"How can you expect me to care for my life when my Pack members are dead huh?!" I growled with eyes that bore holes into his.
"Not all!" He jerked away from my grip. My breaths stormed out even more.
"Follow me." He ordered.
I retained silence as we kept on marching hastily along creepy forest path. There wasn't the usual birds chirping or the beautiful rays but eeriness and whistling wind.
And just when I was about to unleash words of anger, we arrived a clear spot. My jaw dropped not because the area was relatively small. But for Rose, as well as seven other Pack Members sitting on the bare grounds. Bruises imprinted on their once fine skin and eyes that expressed sorrows. They looked weary at the same time broken, some of them still consumed by their loss.
My fist clenched once again. Instead of being thankful for some of my Pack Members that survived, I was enraged. Greatly irritated by the fear and weakness that reeked off them.
"We're the only ones lucky to escape. It was a perfect ambush, Kevin. As if Alpha Jason had been watching us all along." Gabriel sounded.
I turned away sharply, planning to trot all the way to Greenville. But Gabriel jolted in my front, holding me back.
"Where the hell are you going?"
"To kill that bastard!" I growled with gritted teeth. My chest was slowly heaving up and down while my insides were burning for revenge. I didn't care about my injured Pack mates all I thirsted for was blood. To see crimson red of Alpha Jason.
"Are you crazy?!" Gabriel yelled exasperatedly. "Your Pack Members are in distress and all you can think of is revenge!
I studied their looks carefully.
"I am not going to be an Alpha of Cowards! This is a war and I don't care if we're just ten compared to Greenville. It is blood for blood. Let's tell Alpha Jason that Black Moon Pack is not to be trifled with!"
I turned to Gabriel who stood dumbfounded behind me.
"As my Beta, I expect you to strategize a war plan and not thinking of running. So if you know, you felt even an inkling of pain!" I growled as my head inched closer to his face. "Prepare a plan before the sun sets or else, I'm going to Greenville all by myself." I stated in the iciest manner my vocal cords could orchestrate before marching out of their presence.
I reached my pocket for a cigarette but it was empty. My teeth gnashed in frustration as I trailed like a lost dog amidst this eery forest.
Tears started to soak my eyes as I crashed beside a tree. Banging my head repeatedly on the bark till my strength faded. I was tired of everything, tired of the bad life I have to live everyday. Tired of seeing my mother battle depression, tired of seeing her tears. Tired of loosing people.
Tired of being called the son of a traitor.
