"Kevin this is suicide."

"You're not helping Gabriel."

"Oh so you expect me to encourage you towards death?" Gabriel retorted sarcastically. Although my gaze was purely fixated at the trees of Greenville that danced afar off under this starry njght, I knew my friend's face wouldn't be welcoming.

"We've gone over this already, this is the fastest and best way." I chattered as we walked closer to the edge of the cliff. My ears entertaining the movement of river against rocks.

"Remind me again, what are you gonna do when you find the Alpha?"

"Challenge him of course." I remarked nonchalantly as my eyes darted to the river below us. One, I could tell it was deep. Two, I knew if I failed in crossing, I'll probably die a gruesome death yet I still wanted to risk it. I couldn't bear the noise of celebrations that emanated from Greenville. Nor the pain of my fallen Pack Members.

"So you think the others will just watch you challenge their Alpha?"

"Yes." I affirmed.

"What gives you that faith?" I turned to him with a sinister smile.

"This." I slipped out a grenade from my pocket. His eyes exclaimed for a brief moment before relapsing to it's normal status.

"Kevin, why do you like near death experience?" He wriggled his head with his arms creased against his chest.

"Just follow my plan, it's totally safe than this bizarreness of yours."

"I've had enough of your talks Gabriel." I returned to the cliff, slipping the grenade back in my pocket.

I said in the calmest way possible. The Pack Members I lost still gravely hurt me, as if each of them took several pieces of me. I couldn't even begin to imagine the pain which will haunt me if Gabriel, Rose or any of them died tonight.

"We're a Pack, Kevin. We ride together we die together." Gabriel answered. "Victory awaits!" He chirped before parting away into the darkness.

Now that I was all to myself, I would be lying if I said I wasn't scared. I was going to jump between two cliffs of relatively large distance apart. The cold winds blew across my messy long air, dangling my strands across my face. I could hear the river streaming between this cliffs, I could also hear Greenville's screams of excitement.

How could they be happy despite the injustice bestowed upon them. First, their Alpha was killed unjustly. Secondly, that Alpha was replaced by Alpha Jason. A man filled with so much evil. How could they be celebrating?

I took steps backwards while I tore my shirt off my body. And in an odd way, the moon's glorious light fell on my body. I couldn't help but feel even the moon goddess was in my favour. Once I was far enough from the cliff, I pulled my boots off, leaving only my baggy trouser. I swallowed my Saliva alongside my fears.

I slowly closed my eyes letting my consciousness dive into all my painful memories. From my Father's death, to Alpha Jason's unjust rule, to the daily tears of my mother, to the death of my Pack Members, and to being called the son of a traitor!
