The Morning rays dawning on my face complemented with the chirping of birds gently woke me from my beautiful sleep. For the first time in days, I actually enjoyed my sleep thanks to my affectionate Alpha.

My eyes opened abruptly when I couldn't feel his warmth nor his touch over me again. Only his scent remained on the bedsheets. A part of me had wished his arms were still curled around my waist while I woke up to his steely chest.

I alighted from the bed, thinking about my work in Greenville High. One Kevin had relieved me of. To be honest, my body wasn't inclined towards boring school files too. I rather dreamed to spend time with my mate.

And speaking of Mates, I wondered where Kevin had wandered too. I checked the bathroom but he wasn't there, hence I trailed downstairs where Gabriel's voice screeched.

"My Goodness! Kevin what have you done?!" He blared with an obvious laughter as heavy smokes emanated from the kitchen.

"What happened?" My voice sharply toned amidst all the mess.

"Oh hi Claire." Gabriel grinned at me as we stood in front of the kitchen alongside Rose, condensed with smokes of burnt foods.

"This is Kevin's awful attempt at making breakfast."

He mocked causing Rose to burst into laughter.

"Shut up Gabriel!" Kevin blared from the kitchen, I almost burst into laughter too but I quietly strolled into the Kitchen. Amidst the mess, I found my mate trying to shoo off the smokes with his hand towel.

"We'll leave you two love birds to enjoy your breakfast." Rose mumbled while Gabriel laughed again. Kevin hissed, glaring like he was going to pounce on them. They giggled away till their voices vanished with the air leaving me with smokes, burnt food and my wonderful mate.

I joined him at the cabinet while he tossed his green hand towel across his left shoulder. I smiled at the cabinet I ran my fingers on as I inched towards him. There he was standing awkwardly in his brown T shirt and knickers with guilt painting on his face.

"So," I started, "someone is trying to be romantic." I flashed him a smile.

"What? No!" He wriggled his head when his eyes and tone said otherwise. I couldn't help but admire his cuteness being awkward and a little shy.

"I know, my little one."

"Little one?" I pouted.

"You don't like it?" He asked with his eyebrow arched upwards.

"I do." I affirmed like a child. "Just wondering why you call me that."

"I don't know," he chuckled. "Let's just say last night, the way you looked so small and cute in my arms birthed that name."

I hit his chest playfully, reminiscing on how I was blessed with his warmth and care.
