She blushed.

"I thought you weren't going to complement my dress."

"I was but you didn't give me the chance." We chuckled.

"I know you're only forcing yourself to do all this because of me, Gabriel and your Pack. Thank you."

"You're right." I agreed. "But my Luna needs me to be a responsible Alpha not some ruffian. Besides, if I wanna be a good leader then I should be getting used to new lifestyles like this."

"Are you scared?" She asked in a whisper.

"Maybe a little." I admitted.

"We're doing this together." She assured before placing a tender kiss on my lips. I kept on staring at her dazzling Honey irises. She was perfect. Claire was the perfect mate I needed in my life.

"Come on, let's see how Aunt Flora is faring."

And so, we both eased through the door. With every step I took, anxiety took stride in me. Perhaps I was scared of what condition I would meet my Aunt in. Claire turned the door knob letting the warm air inside stream across my faces. As we ushered ourselves in, I found Uncle Walker seated by her bedside and the Pack Doctor focused on the injection in her hands. Then my eyes fell on Aunt Flora herself, seated on the bed whilst staring at me with a confused expression.

"Aunt Flora." I mumbled but her frown deepened.

"Who are you?" She asked in her soft voice and I swallowed the saliva down my throat. I glanced at Uncle Walker's worried face then to the Doctor. Her temporary memory loss wasn't gone yet and it scared me. It made me ponder how long she would live like this.

"I'm your nephew. Kevin." I muttered as I joined Uncle Walker but she kept on scrutinizing me trying to remember.

"Don't worry, Aunt Flora. I promise you'll be fine." I soothed while I held her right hand between mine.

"I promise." I whispered dearly hoping the moon goddess would answer my prayers.

There was a gentle knock on the door before it opened quietly.

"Kevin, Alpha Simon is here." Gabriel sternly stated. I nodded while he left quietly. I heaved a sigh as I stared at Claire who encouraged me with a smile. It was now or never.

"I'll be back." I said to my aunt before leaving with my mate.

"How do you know I'm the new Alpha?" I blurted and he laughed.

"Greenville is second to Moonsville. Whatever happens here, the news spreads fast."

I flashed him a tiny smile before darting my eyes to his associates. A fair young lady who eyed me like a seductress and a young man whose face was relatively more innocent.

"Please meet my Beta, Gerald." He pointed to his left while I extended my hand for a shake. "And this is Lucy, my Delta." She winked at me but I shrugged her off.

"Nice to meet you all." I spoke. "This is Gabriel, my Beta. Walker, my--" I pursed my lips looking for the right words to use. "My counselor."

"And who is this beautiful lady by your side?" Alpha Simon cut me off, his eyes clearly expressing desire for my woman. Anger and jealousy easily ignited. I curled my left hand around Claire's waist who was smiling sweetly at Simon.

"I'm Claire, Kevin's Luna." She eloquently muttered.

"Hmm nice to meet you, miss Claire." He took her left hand before placing a tender kiss. "But you haven't been marked yet." He added and my palms curled into a fist. Rage was burning my insides but for everyone there I tried to subdue it. How dare he kiss my mate?!
