"Kevin, Kevin! Keeevin." My Father called as he roamed about the Pack house garden. I giggled sheepishly before walking behind his towering figure in the stealthiest manner possible.
"Kevin you can come out now!" He chuckled.
"Gotcha!" I jumped at his leg while he laughed. "I win again!"
"I knew you were behind my back." He laughed as he lifted me from his legs. Holding me in his arm as he teased my nose playfully.
"No you didn't!" I whined.
"Yeah I didn't." We both laughed this time.
"Boys, get inside now before breakfast turns cold!" My mother's pitch could be heard from our house.
"Uh-oh, we better hurry before mommy gets mad!" My Father joked with a sweet grin. He joggled towards the door while I played with his neatly styled long brown hair.
My nostrils picked the scents of pancakes and my stomach immediately groaned for it. We hurried to the dining but my mother held us back with warning glares.
"You know what to do, go wash your hands first." She ordered while we grumbled. Father dropped me while he inched closer to his wife.
"Did I mention how beautiful you look this morning." He softly whispered but I scurried to the sink, washing my palms in haste.
I heard her chuckle.
"It's not going to work, Sweetie. Wash your hands first and then you can tell me how beautiful I look." He grumbled before rushing to the sink.
I briskly joined my mother at the dining. Hurriedly scooping a slice into my mouth.
"Hmmm...delicious!" I chirped with my mouthful.
"You know, I make the best pan cakes." My Father uttered as he joined us. My mother and I almost choked on our food on hearing those words.
"Good morning, Kevin." Uncle Walker greeted. I hissed.
"There's nothing good about the morning." I chattered as I sat beside him while Gabriel and my Mother took opposite.
"Hey man." Gabriel waved but I shrugged him off. Choosing to fill my craving stomach rather than entertain nonsensical talks.
"Kevin, I'm surprised you didn't tell me about Gabriel. It's been years, you know." My mother said with her gaze solely on me.
"Yeah, you could have told us you guys met recently." Uncle Walker added.
"It wasn't necessary." I retorted icily without glancing at them. "It's not like you guys would throw him a party or call him back into Greenville."
"Kevin, he's your long lost friend. A little introduction to us would do. You know it's quite a long time you've had an actual friend." My mother interjected but here I am, trying to enjoy my breakfast they were obviously ruining.
"Well we all know how h-" Gabriel tried to say but I cut him off abruptly.
