"You want an introduction right?" I glanced between my mother and Uncle Walker.
"Mom, Uncle Walker, this is Gabriel whom you already know. He's a rogue who has been exiled for years now." I pursed my lips as I gestured at my friend.
"Gabriel, this is Uncle Walker. And meet my mother. The both of us were recently exiled from our Pack and we sincerely hope you can show us the rope about Rogue life."
I sarcastically toned to their displeased faces.
"Now can we please eat breakfast in peace?"
"Well I have some good news that will cheer your mood." Uncle Walker replied. I hissed but he continued regardless.
"Your mother and I have been in talks with Alpha of Crimson Claw Pack. He was a close Ally of your father and he's ready to accept you two into his Pack."
"I don't need his help." I avowed icily.
"Kevin, this is a chance for us to start over again. A chance to be normal again." My mother emphasized.
"To hell with Crimson Claw Pack." I growled. "Where was he when my father was unjustly killed by the Lycan? Now all of a sudden he wants to help. I don't need pitiful favours from anybody. Now if you will excuse me, Gabriel and I have somewhere important to visit."
I dropped my cutlery noisily.
"Kevin this is a one chance opportunity!" Uncle Walker blared.
"I didn't remember asking for your help, old man." I scoffed. "Bye mom." I added before storming outside, impatiently waiting for Gabriel to join me.
"You have a problem." Gabriel stated as he emerged.
"Shut up." I growled while we threaded on the lonely path. "Did I ask you to visit?"
"Is it a crime to say hi to your mom?"
I huffed before pulling a cigarette and a lighter from my pocket.
"Your tattoo, it's beautiful." He said with his eyes fixated to the Wolf drawing imprinted on my right chest.
I simply nodded and then wore my long sleeve shirt quickly.
"Can we just walk faster please." I mumbled, refraining myself from venting my frustration on him. The fact Uncle Walker and my Mother had to go around asking for pitiful help, irked me to the very core.
"Ugh, why are they bowing for me?" I whispered to Gabriel who in turn flashed me a cunning smile.
"You'll know soon." He answered. "But that's not why today is special!" He raised his voice while they returned to their normal status.
"Today marks the beginning of our Pack. One we've been building for so long now. We already have our boundaries, our hunting grounds, houses but we don't have a name yet nor an Alpha."
"We have finally found that Alpha. The long lost one--"
I rolled my eyes as Gabriel continued in his talks. Rather than waste precious time talking gibberish, he should just announce his self as their official Alpha.
"Kevin Manchester, is henceforth our Leader!" Gabriel announced in an authoritative manner.
My eyes exclaimed, my mouth went agape and my body quivered from shock. I pinched myself severally to ascertain I wasn't dreaming. Unfortunately, I wasn't!
I was dumbstruck as the crowd cheered for me. Yes I wanted to be part of a Pack for revenge but not for Alpha position!
Deep inside, I knew I wasn't fit to be one. My life, my ways and habits doesn't deserve an Alpha position. Let alone the responsibilities that comes along thereof.
No! I can't be Alpha. I can't!
