"Afraid to let me be alone with him?"

"I am." Angela really was afraid. She was afraid he wouldn't care for him enough, she was afraid he'd steal him away from her.

"I'd never harm him. But if you want to come, that's better. We'll be a family then." Steven spoke bitterly. He was doing all this for his image. He only wanted Daniel to show him off. Having a son only made him even more powerful. The picture of his perfect family was now completed. He had an heir to his legacy.

The two hours Daniel spent running from an employee to another, he had been polite with everyone. All those who met him were charmed with his manners and his gentlemanly attitude. Nobody had commented or raised the question why the boy's existence was unknown until that day. At least not at their faces.

All the while, Steven had one thought on his mind. Angela had raised a good kid. She had done a great job by herself. By herself and with the help she received from Tony and his family. Grace was right. He had to thank Tony for a lot.

On the other hand, the one thought that was on Angela's mind was how glad she was that Daniel had enjoyed himself. She hoped he would be that happy for all the days they would be spending with Steven.

The ride back to Steven's condo had been loud. He asked a million questions about construction and everything else. Steven had answered them all. Angela had to admit to herself she was impressed with Steven's patience.

John the chauffeur had instantly gotten on Daniel's list of favorite people. The man had joked with him constantly and even let Daniel pull at his perfectly set moustache to make sure they were real. Not once had John uttered a word or question about Daniel's existence or even given a different look other than the genuinely gentle face he always wore towards Angela.

When they returned at Steven's, Daniel had been reluctantly in agreeing to have a bath. He knew a wash meant his day was ending. Angela had only managed to get him to get in the bath when she showed him the pyjamas Steven bought him with a hundred soccer balls on it. After the bath, Daniel had then fought his way to get to bed. He cried at wanting to stay awake with his new friend Steven. Steven compromised with him that he'd take him to a construction site one day if he obeyed and gotten to bed.

As soon as Daniel's head touched the pillow, he dozed off immediately. He was depleted. As was Angela.

She dropped her body on the plush sofa. Lifting her tired legs on the coffee table. Steven sat beside her with two generously filled wine glasses in his hand. Angela didn't need coercing to accept the glass. His feet joined beside her on the table. He too was tired. It had been a long, eventful day for both.

Steven leaned to the kitchen counter. "Yea. I slept like a baby. My bed is very comfortable. How did you sleep?"

Oh, damn him. He was barely awake and already being sarcastic and a tease. He teased not only with his words and the mentioning of his good sleep but also with his wicked wink and grin and his glorious half naked body. For yet another morning, Steven strutted in just his boxer shorts.

Angela tried to keep her focus on not burning the eggs sizzling in the pan. "You should put on a shirt."

"Hate the morning view?"

He sure did woke up in a good mood. What had brought that on? Angela was wondering when suddenly cold hands grabbed her hips from behind. The same hands then pulling her back to collide with a rock hard body. She gasped startlingly as she felt the deliberate pressing of the bulk in his pants to her backside and instantly, like it burned her, she jumped away from his hold.
