After I walked out the banquet and tried to hail a taxi, Marco followed after me. We both got into the taxi and rode silently home. I wasn't in the mood for talking or anything. I thought for sure that I wanted to tell Nicolas about the baby, but after seeing him today. He didn't seem like he actually changed a bit. He was a little less spunky and rude but he still had that arrogant attitude about him. And instead of waiting for him to laugh in my face and kick me to the curb after I tell him about the baby, I left on my own. Why let him have the benefit of being a complete ass about his own child. At least I won't lie to the baby when I tell them that their father wasn't a good man at all.
When we arrived back at the apartment, Marco opened the door for me and helped me unzip my dress. He didn't say much because he understood that I wasn't in the mood for talking. Marco knew me so well and that was one of the reasons I would have loved to have dated him if of course he wasn't gay. But I could settle for him being my best friend. At least I got to keep him close.
I changed into a huge t-shirt and climbed into bed. My body was exhausted and I let myself sleep for the sake of the baby. I looked at the clock; it was 11: at night. I rolled over facing the side of the bed that Kyle would normally sleep on. I pushed his pillow on the floor and placed my pregnancy pillow, which I named Bob, in its place. I don't remember actually falling asleep.
I dreamt of waking up in another bedroom. I looked around, there were clothes folded on a chair, but they looked like a man's and the dresser definitely had a woman and man's side thing going on. I got up from the bed and noticed that the baby was gone. My stomach was completely flat. I started freaking out so I ran out the bedroom and down the steps. The house was beautiful and big but I wasn't concerned for that.
I woke up the next morning feeling somewhat refreshed. I still felt like a ticking time bomb though. I rolled over to see the time. It was 9:11 in the morning. I slept pretty well. I normally wake up at 7 but I guess my body needed the rest. I sat up and pushed myself off the bed, putting my slippers on and heading towards the bedroom door. During the beginning of my second trimester, I've been walking really slow and wobbling like a penguin. At first it was cute but when I want to get somewhere in hurry, it's actually extremely annoying.
I smelt food coming from the kitchen so I headed in that direction. Marco was cooking. A small smile spread across my face because once again, Marco would have made the best husband.
"Good morning mumble." Marco said to me. Only recently has he started calling me the penguin from Happy Feet. I wasn't offended since i do walk like a penguin.
"morning marco. Whats for breakfast?"
"Alysia brought over your faborite foods, but I just had to cook it. It was all Alysia's idea, quite frankly I would have just treated you to McDonalds."
After breakfast Marco cleaned up and I went back to the bedroom to first take a bath and get dressed for the day.
Might as well go see what Alysia wants. Please don't let her be too mad.
I took a nice long hot shower. My body was really tense and now thanks to the hot shower, I felt more relaxed. I got out the shower and brushed my teeth before heading back to my bedroom. When I got back into the bedroom, I headed straight for the closet. I picked out a navy blue green maternity maxi skirt, a white maternity spaghetti strap, a navy blue cardigan and some blue green sandals. I felt pretty today thanks to the relaxation from the shower. I didn't bother with make up but I did put on some Eos chap stick. I love those things. My hair was doing some nice curly thing this morning so I let it down and let it flow. Too much work doing anything else.
I headed out the bedroom and met Marco in the hallway. He was wearing a pair of dark green shorts, brown Sperrys, and a white polo shirt. He naturally looked like a model. He smiled at me as I walked over to him.
