"No," Sage muttered and released Jacob. "Nothing's wrong."

"Right." Jacob smiled, playing along. "just a misunderstanding. Right, Sage?"

"Whatever," he muttered and pushed past Jacob. I soon felt myself being dragged away with him and I looked back to see Jacob smirking at me.

Weird kid...

"I can't believe you told me to let him go. Are you stupid?"

Excuse me?

I rooted myself to the ground pulled my hand from him.

"So I'm stupid now?" I frowned. It was a moment later when he finally turned to me.

He sighed. "Hanna I didn't mean it like that-" he started, reaching out to met but I backed away.

"Then what did you mean?"

"He deserved whatever he got."

"So why do you care? It's not like we're friends."

That last part unnecessary, I know, but I was offended. His face gave nothing away, but his eyes said differently.

"Look," I sighed. "I didn't mean it like that."

"No, it's fine. And you're right."

What?

"I am?" I asked, confused.

"Absolutely. Why should I care if we're not even friends?"

I don't think I like how that sounded.

"But," he continued, a smile coming aross his face. I had to fight the urge to sigh heavenly at the sight of his dimples. Somehow I felt he did that on purpose. "that doesn't mean we can't start now."

"Huh?"

That was the only word my mouth seemed to form before he planted a soft kiss on my cheek. He made a dash for down the hall. It took me a while to stop blushing and get over my shock before getting mad at him. "Sage!"

He laughed. "See you in first period, best friend!"

Huh? When did he get here?

"How long have you been standing here?" I asked, lightly blushing.

"Five minutes." My eyes widen in shock and I hit his shoulder. "And you didn't say anything!"

"Well, you seemed deep in thought so I didn't want to disturb you." He mumbled, rubbing the spot I hit. "Gee, what's with the unnecessary violence."

Great now he's making me feeling bad.

I was about to apologize when he spoke again. "And besides," he smirked. "it gave me an excuse to stare at that smoking hot bod of yours."

And now I take it back. I hope I broke his shoulder.

"What is it that you called me here for anyway?" I snapped ignoring his last statement. He better not be up to anything funny because once I get one hint of suspicion, I'm out of here.

"Cranky aren't we today?" he smiled.

"Sage, I'm warning you." He just shook head and chuckled at me.

"Fine. I wanted to tell you something."
