"I think we should give everyone another hour." his breath fanned my face.
"Yes, we should."
As we laid in the sheets savoring the last few minutes we had together, I began to see things a lot differently. Before I was okay with not making it out alive; I was okay with dying. As long as it means everyone's safe, it was enough for me to go. But that's not what I believe in anymore. I don't want to die. It's not fair to Sage and it definitely wasn't fair to me. I wanted to live life like everyone else, I wanted to grow old like everyone else, I wanted to die on my own terms.
I held the sheet up to my face and pulled away from Sage, immediately feeling his arm craned around my waist tugging me back.
"Just five more minutes." He said lazily.
I rolled my eyes. "Five more minutes is all we have left. I can't."
He mumbled something under his breath before I felt him bite my skin softly.
"No!" I slapped his leg. "I know what you're trying to do."
"It was worth a shot!" He laughed. "I just can't keep away from you."
Silence fell between us, as he traced my back with his fingers. I wish we could stay like this forever.
I don't want to die. I want to live with Sage and everyone else. But if it comes down to it, it's all of their lives versus mine and there is no way in hell Sage is dying on my watch.
"I love you." He said lowly, but the silence of the room amplified his voice.
"I love you too."
"So do me a favor and don't die on me out there."
"I won't."
"Not everyone is gonna make it back. "
"Then why risk their lives for me? If it's because I'm the Luna, then you can always-"
"That's not why, and I'm not finding someone else. Being a part of the pack means is like being apart of a family. Blood doesn't matter. If one of us is being attacked, we are all being attacked, if someone dies, we all lose that person, if someone gets kicked out, it hurts all of us no matter what they did. You never have to face anything alone because there are plenty of people here that would be damned if you did. They are fighting because of Vin, they are fighting because you need help. If you were to go out there by yourself, and god forbid something happened to you, Hanna, we'd all bear that cross knowing there was something we could have done."
"What if it doesn't change anything?"
"Then you won't have to die alone."
"I can't let that happened."
"Then suck it up and fight. You are stronger than you know. Don't be afraid to tap into that power just because you think it'll change you. It won't. If you're as stubborn as I give you credit for, then you'll beat it. For as long as I've known you, you don't let anything control you, this shouldn't be any different."
