"Umm, I think that's a topic left to you and Sage only."
I settle for leaving it at that. I don't want to ask any more questions. My head is already full of too much information. I laid on my bed and closed my eyes. Immediately, I saw Sage's face. My eyes shot open and I sat up in the bed.
'I'm coming for you...'
"Sage?" I asked the invisible person in front of me, only to hear a dark chuckle. That was not Katelynn.
"I guess I was right. Sending those guys out to attack was a good idea. If I knew doing that would have led him closer to you I would have done it in the beginning. "
My eyes shot daggers at him.
"For an unmarked, not to mention human, your bond with Sage is greater than I expected." He smiled. But something was wrong. And it was when my eyes began to scan the room for any weapons, was when I noticed it was just us two. I felt my stomach drop.
"Where's Katelynn?"
"You mean the slave girl? She has, duties" he smirked.
Sage POV
I buried my face in her hair and sighed with content. Her scent, its seems endless. So intoxicating. Having her in my arms was all I longed for and now I got her back. My mind can finally be at peace.
I noticed that she was no longer crying and she had fallen asleep. I smiled down at her, my brave little mate. I can't believe she survived here with Jason for so long. I can't believe I took so long to find her. I brush some strands of hair from her face and gingerly kissed her forehead.
"I'm sorry you had to wait," I whispered to her, not caring that others were around. All I cared about was her. But I wonder when they got here.
At the sound of a low growl, I snapped my head around to see some of Jason's guys. I guess they found Jason, or what was left of him for the matter. I looked over the twelve of them, foolish avengers.
"Ethan," I said. "take her."
"But Sage-"
"That's an order!" I barked and he held back a protest. He glared at me while he took her from my arms. Before he could run off, though, I grabbed him. "Wait,"
I abandoned my oppose in the need to find my sister. I can't let anything happen to her! I would send Scott but I can't even find him! I've been sending out link calls but he didn't answer. I followed Nichole's scent to the middle of the woods and my ears we greeted by her desperate sobs. When I finally found her, I saw a sight that would be imprinted in my mind for the rest of my life.
It wasn't supposed to happen. None of this was to occur, but it did. Right before my eyes, was proof itself. There laid a bloody Scott, his head being cradled in Nichole's lap while she cried consistently. I didn't know if I should feel sadness, but I didn't. My body was numb at the moment.
[Earlier]
"You see those guys guarding the place, I want you guys to go make some kind of distraction. Better yet knock them out, but don't kill anyone, because soon as one blood spills, it's going to be a bloodbath."
Everyone nodded in understanding. I sent a few guys down and told them to give the signal when all clear. After a few minutes, I heard the whistling call and ordered my men to action. We surrounded the entire perimeter in case someone tried reporting us to Jason. I sent out the next group to take down the eyes around the place so no one would see us coming. We managed to get the keys for the main doors and we blitz the place.
But what I didn't expect was to see that Jason's men were already waiting for us.
Minor set back.
I led my men into battle not caring there was a flaw in my plan. Nothing is going to stop me from getting my mate. Not. A. Damn.Thing.
