Leaving some of the guys to fight, we made it towards a couple cells. I tried my best to tear my eyes away, but I couldn't. It was like kicking a wet, cold puppy. In those cages held nothing but terrified young girls. The youngest would be about 17. How could so many girls be missing and nobody came to look for them? How long have they been gone?

"We can't leave them." I heard Nichole's voice, and I knew it was true. We can't leave them here. But this wasn't supposed to happen. The plan was to get in, get out. Simple. I can't afford to stop every single time there is an issue, every time something comes up.

But I guess nothing great ever goes according to plan.

"You are just like my conscience, you know that?" I smirked.

"What else am here for? You don't always make logical decisions." she shook her head at me.

"That's because I'm more of an action kind of person."

"More like an impulsive jackass-"

"Okay guys, we're wasting time here." Mike cuts in. "Everyone already knows Sage's an idiot but we need to know who's leaving and who's staying with these ladies." he wriggled his eyebrows.

"Not so fast Romeo, group 3 and 4 are staying," Sage smirked at the glare he was receiving from Mike. "I want you guys to clear out all these cages and bring them back to the camp. Report back to me in an hour. Clear out."

We were fighting a couple guys when the scent hit me.

Jason.

I ran off immediately, ignoring the calls of my friends. But their hands were full fighting off Jason's cronies so they couldn't stop me if they wanted to. It was a selfish move on my part, but I am a very selfish man. That bastard is the only way of getting to my mate and I'm not taking any chances.

Seeing a large double door coming into view, I realized it was the only thing stopping me from him. I burst through it like nobody's business and true enough, there was the son of a bitch.

A couple guys were there with him. Protection, maybe. But he could have had twenty, I didn't give a shit.

"Sage! So glad to see you could join us!"

"I'm done giving you chances." I glowered. "Give her back or I'll rip your throat out."

"Tsk, tsk, tsk. I see you still have that anger issue." Jason said.

Two people were then pushed from behind his bodyguards. There was a sack covering their head so I couldn't see their faces. But one thing I was positive of, one of them was Hanna.

"We wouldn't want to do anything rash that would, I don't know, effect them now would we." He pulled off one of the sack and my eyes met her's instantly.

"Hanna..." I whispered. But all I heard from her were muffled sounds because of the cloth around her mouth. She was shaking her head, telling me no, her face was plastered with fear. My brows frown in confusion at her actions.

I took a step closer to her.

"Ah, ah, ah," Jason wagged his finger. "Not so fast. Let's not forget curtain number two!" he cheered. He pulled off the other sack and I felt my whole world crumble. I fell to my knees and cradled my face in my hands. My head was now pounding.

This is not real. This is not real.

"Believe me, only one of us will leave here alive."

"So you plan on killing me even if I chose or not."

"Precisely."

"Then fine. I chose none of them."

"Wait, what?"

He honestly seemed shocked. I guess he wasn't expecting this then.

"I choose none of them," I repeated.

"No, you can't do that!" He screamed, like a child being denied their desires.

"Why not?"

"Becau-"

"Why don't you just cut the crap and fight me like a man," I interjected. I observe his reaction as a murderous aura began to emancipate from him. "I'm the one you want, remember? Like you said, only one of us will make it out her alive."
