Just then the doors burst open, and in came rolling the rest of my men.
Crap.
"What the hell was that man-" Scott seethed, but almost gasped as he noticed the scene in front of him. "Is that Katelynn? What the hell is going on in here?"
"Dammit! How did you get past the guards!" Jason steamed.
Nichole smirked. "Let's just say you weren't very well, equipped."
"Oh, Nichole, nice to see you." Jason smiled and Scott shot him a glare.
"That makes one of us."
For some reason, Jason's lip shot Nichole a wicked grin, as if something just came afloat.
"You shouldn't keep secrets, my little niece, they hurt people."
I look to Nichole to see her face fall.
"What is he talking about?"
"I don't know."
Liar!
"Nichole,"
"Not now Sage," she squeezed her eyes. "forget about it for now."
As much as I wanted to get it out of her, I knew we had bigger problems. Jason was probably using her to distract me.
"Jason, I think it's time we settled this," I spoke.
He was outnumbered, and I knew he was aware of it. If he's as crazy as I think, he'll take the bait and attack us. But that's what I was hoping for actually.
But things began to spiral down when did just the opposite. He grabbed onto Hanna and gripped her neck.
"Don't move! Or she's dead!"
"Get your hands off her." I raged, but the first I took, resulted in a strangled cry my legs stood solid.
Dammit, Hanna!
"As long as I have her Sage, I will always have another chance to kill you," he said. He backtracked towards the window, dragging Hanna along. "I have to admit, you actually caught me this time. I thought I was one step ahead, but it turns out you were already in front of me. So seeing that I will most likely lose this battle, I will see you on a better day."
But I was okay with that.
My wolf burst through the window and landed on all four. He immediately picked up Jason's sent and it wasn't long before we caught up to him. He stopped and turned to me. He looked between Hanna and I then threw her against a tree, with a thump. I growled.
I guess he chose me.
"This is it I guess." he glared."I will kill you." he shifted into his black wolf. He lunged at me, his sharp claws digging into my skin. I whimpered in pain and snapped my jaws at him. I tackled him into the bushes, the two of us biting and clawing at flesh. He bit my stomach and I felt warm liquid soak my fur. I whimpered as I felt his teeth sink harder. I nipped at his head until I came in contact with what felt like his ear. I bit down on for dear life until it ripped off. He immediately released me and clawed at the spot I took off. I rose on shaky legs and smirked.
Bastard.
I attacked him while he was distracted, pinning him down with my paw at his throat. I knew if I don't kill him now, he'll kill others. He won't stop. My father told me there was no chance for people like him, but I always thought people could change. I was so sure when this moment came I wouldn't hesitate. But look what I'm doing? To take another life was never something I'm proud of, but killing my own uncle was worst. I knew what it'd cause so I can't just let him go.
I gazed him, the tormented soul. I snapped my jaws down on his neck, hearing the crushing of bones, feeling the blood seeping through my mouth. And I could feel it, my mother's pain. I made sure he was dead before letting him go. He shifted back, his body unmoving. He was different when he was dead.
So different.
I changed back also. My breathing heavy as I stared down at him.
I killed him.
I felt tears roll down my cheeks, for no reason but pity. I knew he had to die, but for some reason, in those last moments, he stopped resisting. He welcomed death.
