"I'm sorry," I whispered.

"It had to be done, he was unstable," Adam said, lifelessly. But I knew he was there before he spoke. I guess they already took care of Jason's guys.

"I know," I said, about to face him but he held me in place.

"Uhh, I think you should put theses on first." He threw a pair of pants in front of me. "I don't think anyone around here wants to see your precious little jewels," he smirked.

"Jealous?" I said, buttoning my pant.

He laughed. "Believe me, I want nothing you got."

I just smirked at him.

"So where's Hanna?" He asked.

"She's over-" My eyes largened. "What the? She was right there!" I said, pointing to the tree. I walked over and noticed a tangled up piece of rope and cloth.

Dammit, Hanna! Why do you always have to run away?

I followed after her scent, catching up to her in no time. She wasn't much of a coordinated runner and she stumbled a lot.

Slow human.

She seemed to have realized that I was after her and she picked up speed. But this just made me angrier. I sprinted towards her, grabbing her waist in a flash. She screamed bloody murder and began kicking and scratching me.

"Let me go!" she sobbed. "Please! I'm not going back."

"Stop it! Hanna, it's me!" I pinned her hands at her side. "It's just me!"

Her actions seem to stop at the recognization of my voice and I let her go.

"It's just me," I repeated. She crumbled to the ground, pulling her knees to her chest. She buried her face in her arm and cry. She gripped her hair and shook her head continuously.

"He's gonna come for me. I can't go back." she cried. I dropped to my knees in front of her and just stared in frustration.

What did he do to her?

I felt my eyes glistening, but I refuse to cry. I'm supposed to comfort her not the other way around.

"He's not coming for you," I reassured.

"You don't know that!"

Her head shot up, and for the first time, I saw the bruises on her face. Before she could look away, I cupped her cheeks and forced her to look at me.

"What did he do to you?"

"Nichole," I said, a hand on her shoulder.

"DON'T TOUCH ME!" she bellowed and I stare at her in shock.

What's wrong with her?

I was angry now. "What the hell Nichole!"

"I'm sorry," she said immediately. "Just, just help me get him back, okay? Before he dies, please?" she pleaded. But my face just hardened at her conclusion.

"Scott's not weak, he won't die."

Sage POV

She's asleep, or that's what I think at least. Me, I didn't sleep a wink. She had a couple nightmares last night but I think she's fine now. I can't help but feel that everything that went wrong yesterday was my fault. Everything was a mess. And Scott, I don't even want to begin to think about that. He was in a pretty bad shape, but my mother said the doctors did a great job in patching him up. Now, all we have to do is wait.

That bastard better wake up soon or I'll have to wake him up myself!

And Katelynn, what am I gonna do about her? I'm sure all she wants now is to go back to her family and show them that she is still alive. But I know there are some things we have to sort out. The feelings we once shared, they just don't die like that. I need closure.

As dramatic as it sounds, I need this and so does she. Jason was right when he said I should have been able to pick Hanna no matter what, but I don't know what happened. I choked.

I look down at the girl in my arms, my beautiful mate. The only person I would ever be with, the only one I'd ever love. And I do honestly love her, I already do. I barely even know her but here we are. Everything has not been going fairly towards us but I'm determined to change that. As soon as she's ready to grasp the concept of everything that happened, I'll make her mine.
