"Sage? What are you doing here?" She asked, her eyes widening.
"Really? He's my friend too, you know?"
"I know, but I just didn't expect you'd be here so soon?"
My brows furrowed. Why would she want me to come later? I saw her eyes trail down from my face to my stomach.
"So how's the wound?" she then changed the subject.
So, she caught her mistake.
"In the healing process. So what's going on?" I got straight to the point.
"What do you mean?" she fidgeted with the door knob.
Nervous?
"Don't lie. What's this big secret nobody care to tell me about? And while we're on the topic, what the hell was Jason talking about!"
She let out a heavy sigh and stepped into the hall, closing the door behind her."Can we do this at another time?" she growled.
"No," I glared. "you're telling me now and you're not going back in that room unless you tell me."
"Well, too bad cause I was leaving anyway." she brushed past me with a huff. I knew something was wrong now. She was never like this. This behavior was aggressive and spiteful, not loving and cheerful.
I grabbed her arm before she could get any farther. "Look, Nichole, I don't what's going on, but you should know that you can tell me anything. You're my baby sister and I don't want you being in trouble and I don't know about it. Just tell me what it is, I promise to leave you alone after, just tell me."
She yanked her arm from my grip, backing up to the wall across me. But she didn't run. For a while she didn't speak and just stood there, staring at a blank spot on the floor. I only began to wonder what was going on in that head of hers.
"It's not that I don't want to tell you," she said. "it's just that I don't know how to."
"Nichole," I approached her. "tell me"
She shot me a teary smile before slowly sliding down to the floor. "You can't tell anyone, not even Mom and Dad," she whispered. I solely nodded and joined her on the floors of the hallway. "I don't even know what happen, though! One minute we were...were just kissing, and, then..."
We? Who is this other 'we' person she talking about? I didn't even know she had a boyfriend!
She laid her head on my shoulder and intertwined her fingers with mine. I gave her hand a firm squeeze, encouraging her to go on.
"I'm pregnant Sage." She just whispered, as if she was afraid the whole building my hear her confession. If my hearing wasn't so keen, I probably would have missed it. "Three weeks, and seven days," she said stiffly. I couldn't just sit there a play stand by anymore, so I took her in my arms. Trying to wrap this whole thing together. This had to be a dream, she's not pregnant. Her dreams won't be taken away from her, I'll wake up soon. I'll be right next to Hanna.
"Well, that's what you get for having sex." I sang.
Hanna POV
I awoke to the feeling of pressure being on my chest. My hands trail to the unnatural weight and found myself touching a soft patch of hair. My first instinct was to scream but I decided against it and opened my eyes instead. I gasp when I realize that there was sunlight in the room. And it looked familiar too. The pale green walls, the white furniture...
Sage. This is Sage's room.
Then that means...
I looked down and felt relief wash over me. I couldn't help but smile at his cute little face. I wonder how he found himself in here anyway, much less on my chest. I guess he went for using me as a giant pillow than an actual pillow itself. Even though I hate to wake him up, I gently shook his little shoulders until I saw his eyes fluttering.
"Hey, Toby, you gotta get up," I said softly. He grudgingly propped himself up and then rubbed the sleep from his eyes. When his finally located mine, I saw his green orbs glowing.
"Anna!" He leaped forward for a hug and the two of us fell back into the soft sheets.
"Hi, Toby." I giggled. "How ya been?" I asked, placing him to sit on my chest.
"I'm okay- but mommy told me the Mr. Jason guy hurt you? Are you gonna die?" He asked, scanning my body for injuries. I looked at his worried face and thought it was so sweet that he was worried about me. He's just too cute.
