"Uhh, Mike," I said slowly, wondering what brought on this new change of personality. "A couple months after you, you know, he moved to our school and we became fast friends if I might add. What does it matter?"
"Does he know...about me?"
"Yes."
"Oh." She only said and began to play with the jewels decorating the bracelet that wrapped her wrist. It seemed to compliment her white flowy dress nicely but she didn't seem to notice me watching her. It was as if she was in deep thought.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Is he coming to the dinner also?"
"He looked pretty dress up to me," I stated.
"Then I can't go." she brushed past me but I held onto her before she could go any further.
"What's wrong?"
She hesitated. "He's...my mate."
As soon as the word left her mouth, I retracted every one of my limbs to my body and backed away from her. This was dangerous and reacted like that I for two reasons only.
1. They just found each other.
2. Mike is a jealous person.
So I'd be wanting a death wish if he sees me anywhere near her. But I still don't know what the problem is. Wouldn't she want to be near him?
"Okay, so what's the problem?"
She then turned her back to me. "A lot of things and I don't want to deal with them anytime soon so, I don't wanna see him."
"But Katelynn, he's your-"
"Just tell him to stay away for a while, okay?" she said softly. "Tell him to stay away."
"I don't think that's good for either of you."
"JUST tell him okay!"
"FINE! Geez!" I threw my hands in the air, leaving the room while I could. I was now on a hunt for Mike and the last place I saw him was in the kitchen.
As soon as I reached my destination, I was told my mother he was in the living room moping around and Nichole was trying to comfort him. So I made a U-turn and headed towards the living room. As I reached the corner I decided to let Nichole continue on with her counseling before I would go in there and crush his spirits forever. Though, I wish it didn't sound so crude. But I'm already here now so I'll just listen to the conversation.
"...I don't even now what I did? Why did she run away?"
"You don't know if it's even like that, though? Just wait it out?"
"Easy for you to say, you attacked Scott the second you found out he's your mate."
I didn't even bother answering her either because my mind was focused on one thing only.
Scott. What the hell were you thinking? Thinking you could keep this from me?
And just thinking about it now only made Nichole's action's make more sense. But it only pissed me off even more.
How could I have not seen it?
As soon as I made it to the backyard, I saw the guys tossing around a football. But as soon as I caught sight with Scott, my legs started moving on their own.
He may have just came out of the hospital two days ago, but he's a werewolf, he can take it.
"Hey, Sage! Check it out," he gleamed. "not a scratch left on me."
My fist connected with his face. I pulled back my hand and positioned it for another blow.
Though I had to admit, that punch hurt like a bitch.
He rose to his feet, angered by what I'd just done. "What at the hell was that for!" he said, shoving my chest. By now everyone stood in shock wondering if my screws were running loose today. But by with the look of complete murder on my face, I wouldn't blame them. My anger kept soaring and I wasn't finished with him yet.
I was just getting started.
I pushed him back. "You wanna know why I just fucking punched you? How about you ask Nichole!" I punched him again, but he recovered faster this time and returned the favor. We were going back and forth until I tackled him to the ground. "I can't believe you! My own sister and you didn't even tell me!"
