So why am I still kissing him, you may ask?
And that's the sick twisted thing about it. I hate and love what he does to me, I can't explain it. This boy has turned me into such a weak little flower that needs constant attention. His attention.
He pulled away from me.
"Let's talk."
"You start."
"What happened when they took you."
My head immediately snapped his direction. His eyes were fixed on mine, they held an unreadable expression. But I knew from his tone that he was finished with my stalling, with me always changing the subject. But I don't want to remember, I don't want to feel so terrified ever again because it makes me feel weak. It shuts me down and it's why I tried avoiding this conversation.
I guess it was noticed.
"Nothing." I barely got out. He roughly grabbed my hand and rolled up my sleeve, revealing my faint bruises. I gasp at the memory. I almost forgot about those.
Almost.
"You call this nothing!"
A tear rolled down my cheek and I rip my arm from him to wipe it away.
"Look what they did to you! How can you say that it's nothing? You can't expect me to help you if you keep shutting me out!"
"I never asked for your help!" I yelled.
"You didn't have to ask!" He said, his voice somber. "I feel everything, you feel. I know about the nightmares, you crying yourself to sleep."
I took in a sharp breath, feeling it slicing against my windpipe.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"I thought I could handle it." I paused and looked away. "It was so easy when I disregarded everything else before, so I thought I could treat this the same."
"Why would you do that?"
"For me, it's easier to ignore everything bad that happens in my life because, if it all becomes too much," I look to him this time, my eyes a running stream. "I'm gone, Sage. And you could never get me back. No matter what you do you won't be able to fix me."
His eyes looked sad, glistening even. And even though I'm the one hosting this pity party, he looked broken.
"What did they do to you."
Two hours for what?
"Deal. Oh, and by the way, she's a stubborn one." he said, and then it was just the man and I. I watched him as he began to take his jacket and shoes off.
"What are you doing?"
Stupid question. I know. But it seemed as if my mind began to register what was happening.
"What does it look like, sweetheart? We're gonna have some fun."
"No." I said inaudibly. My eyes were looking around for any type of weapon that could be used to rip open this son of a bitch, but all dear Jason left me with was this moldy old bed; which will not benefit me in this situation. "Don't do this, please." I tried, hoping that he might feel some remorse.
"Hey, don't cry. I promise I'll make this memorable for you."
At those words, my body froze. I never thought I'd be in this situation, I never thought I would seem so weak. I'd always pictured myself as one fighting back.
What the hell is wrong with me? Fight!
"I thought Jason said you were a fighter." I felt cold finger graze my neck. "Don't tell me I broke you already?"
