"Could you at least put Dad on the phone? Yeah...I know." he rolled his eyes. "...Hey, Dad...No, I'm at a friend's house...Who told you?..Oh...It's a long story..." he scratched the back of his head. "Okay...Bye." he hung up the phone a groaned. "I'm so dead. If you don't see me on Monday, tell the police to look for a body."
I laughed. "I can see where Hanna gets it from!"
"It not funny, I'm serious. I'd trade mothers with you any day!"
"My mom might not be as bad as yours, but trust me, it'll feel like your's never left. And believe me when I tell you the day those two discover each other will be the end of our lives."
"My Dad wasn't that mad about it cause your dad already told him. He just did tell my mom for obvious reasons." He rolled his eyes.
"You're a wolf. She can't throw you that far."
"You'd be surprised at what she's capable of."
"Hence the devious ways of Hanna."
He shook his head. "Glad I'd never seen her in action."
"You should have known better than to tell her," I said wisely.
"What was I suppose to do?"
"Uh? Lie." I say like its the most obvious thing in the word.
"It's impossible. My mother's like a human lie detector."
"Oh, you have one of those." I clicked my tongue in pity. "That's tough, man." I shook my head. "My mother is more on the suspicion level than a lie detector."
"And this is why they must never meet." he concluded.
I thought it over for a while but I knew what my answer would be already.
"Agreed." we both said in a union.
We were finishing up our food when a sickening scream sliced throughout the once silent house. It was shortly followed by a few shrieks.
"What's going on?" Charlie panicked. "It sounds like someone is being murdered up there."
I frowned. "It's the girls."
We both rushed towards the guest hall to see a pretty dysfunctional scene outside the doors. The girls were drenched from head to toe and was pinning Scott to the ground, who was fighting for his life.
I should have known they'd try to kill each other.
"What is going on?" I laughed.
"While we were sleeping, this little bastard threw cold water on us!" Taylor growled.
Wait, Taylor? When did she get here-Oh my God, I forgot she was in Paris!
"Taylor, when did you come back?"
"Wait a minute," Taylor gasped, putting everyone into shock. Scott used this time of weaknesses to escape from the girls' grasps. They all shriek as the fell off Scott's back and onto the wooden floor. Scott backed up to the wall gasping for air.
"You're all demons!" he declared. "All of you!"
Wow, he looks so traumatized.
"You mean you're that Charlie?" Taylor said, rising to her feet. "Huh? Stella was right, you are a cute one."
"I never said that!" Stella shrieked.
"Funny?" Taylor said to her. "Cause that's how I remembered it. Taylor Richards," she held out her hand. "single." As soon as Charlie put his hand out I slapped it away.
"Charlie Edwards, taken," I answered for him.
"Charlie Edwards taken," she mimicked me but it only led me to copying her back. We were going at it for a while until the last person I'd expect to see broke us up.
"What is going on here!" I heard Hanna's voice. "You guys woke Toby up and now he can't go back to sleep."
She held him in a secure grip above her waist and his head was in the crook of her neck. I just glared at the little blonde devil. I bet he was already awake, he just wanted Hanna to himself. But the jokes on him cause I have her forever!
...And I'm competing against a five-year-old.
"And why are you guys all wet? Was there this huge leakage that missed my room by chance?"
"Blame Scott." Everyone said in a union, throwing my previous ambushed friend under the bus. Hanna looked to him expectantly, waiting for a reason.
