"Hanna," Sage whispered breathlessly. It sent my heart beating, just hearing my name from his lips. "We have to stop."

It was a sentence I wasn't thinking about at the moment. My mind was far beyond those lines actually. Haziness was all that captured me but I had enough clarity to know he was right. I don't think I even trust myself at all to just kiss him.

I looked into his eyes. They were dark, just like when we had first me, but a speck of green was still visible. A speck of his self-control, maybe.

I moved to a sit-up position, resting my back against the wall. I was beginning to wonder why things were intensifying. It's like every time we kiss, an article of clothing goes missing, and it wasn't just that, Sage too. He always seemed taken over and elated.

He moved to lay next to me on the bed staring at the ceiling. None of us hadn't spoken for a while now, and I was kind of had me in suspense. I don't know why I feel like a bomb us about to be dropped, but the moment was just so still.

"We haven't really talked before," he spoke. "And I don't me what I'm doing right now. I mean actually just, talk."

"Then what do you want to talk about?"

"Anything. Tell me about you- I want to know everything."

"There isn't much to say." I looked away, but it's not like he saw me or anything.

"Then just let me hear your voice," he whispered, slightly dazed.

"Are you okay?" I looked to him now, seeing his eyes closed.

Silence.

"Sage?" I asked again. I began to panic a bit when he didn't respond and I touched his slightly tinted cheek to notice that they were warm. His eyes opened then, but they were no longer dark, but a pale shade of green than his normally vivid ones. I furrowed my brows in concern. "Are you okay?"

"Your voice is beautiful..."

"Sage, you're scaring me," I whispered.

"Just so beautiful..." he trailed off, his eyes closing again. I quickly put my head to his chest I listen for his heartbeat. And it was there alright, but it was beating rather fast. I really don't know what just happened but all I know is someone better get up here right now because my voice was failing me.

I walked stiffly downstairs. My movements not really registering in my mind. Sage wasn't waking up and I didn't know what to do. The things that he was saying made no sense, most of them incoherent and the rest was mumbled. The look in his eyes when I had seen them scared me, and I don't think I need a Ph.D. to know something was wrong.

At the thought, I rose my shaky hands and hugged my chest, the feeling if them numb, a chill running up my spine. I felt my eyes beginning to still at my frustration, a very ill feeling settling in my stomach.

Why does there always gave to be a freaking plateau?

As I approached the kitchen, my ears were greeted by everyone's laughter, and conversation. I couldn't help but think how ironic it all was.

"I don't know what's wrong with him," I whispered. "I think it's bad."

It was a beat later that everyone scampered out the kitchen, Scott being their leader. I trailed slowly behind, already knowing what was awaiting.

Now I really feel like a criminal, like I was portraying to them my work.

When I finally joined them in the room, I was met with Scott shaking and slapping the hell out Sage, his effort unsuccessful. Charlie was desperately trying to pull Scott from Sage and everyone just silently watched, not knowing what to do.

As if sensing me, Scott dropped him like a rag doll and turned to me, his eyes wide.

"What did you do?" he whispered.

I took a step back and cringed. I felt a lump forming in my throat, making it hard to swallow my sob, and I was praying to God that they believe me when I told them I didn't do anything.

"Nothing," I said.

Silence floated among us now and it I took it upon myself to study their face. It was then that I realized a face was missing.
