I pulled the laces on my shoes tighter to secure them on my feet. I felt as if the tighter I pulled them, the more I get a good feel of the ground. It kind of makes me feel lighter. I stood up and went to zip up my sweatshirt when Sage's hand enclosed around mine and brought the zipper to my collar bones. His hands moved to either side of my neck and pulled my hood over my head. Just when I thought he was about to kiss me, he pulled the strings at the sides, almost cocooning face.

"How romantic," I said dryly, but he just laughed.

"You're cute." He said and pecked my lips.

"Aren't I always?" I smiled. I brought my fingers up to my throat and torn my cotton cocoon apart. I was met with Sage's green eyes staring down at me, almost amusingly. I never realized how pretty they actually were, and his dark set of long lashes only made them stood out more.

His lips then faltered a bit and his face seemed to sag along with it. "I'm sorry I didn't step in earlier, my dad said-"

"It's fine." I sighed. "And it's not like it's a lie anyway." I groaned and fell against his chest. "I'm dead weight!" I muffled.

"No you're not." he petted my hair. "You just have untapped potential."

"The only potential I have is getting killed."

"C'mon," he hugged me. "who's my strong little witch-hunter-human?"

I looked up to him. "Who you calling little? I'm older than you remember?"

"Should have known you were a cougar. Lucky for you, I got a thing for older women. What drew you in, the money or my dashing looks?"

"The money."

"Hurtful." He shook his head. "And you're a gold digger too."

"What can I say? A girl got needs."

His lips inched towards mine teasingly, his breath grazing the skin each time he breathed. I arms tightened around me like a crane, squeezing the life out of me.

"Say you were in it for my looks." he smirked.

I smirked back. "Even if I cracked a rib."

"Daring aren't we?" He mused, loosening his hold. "Okay." When I then felt his fingers running again my sides, I knew it was only a matter of time. But I can't give in! I just can't! "Say it!"

"No!"

"Say it!"

"Never!" I laughed.

"Say. It"

"And it's exactly why I'm separating you. You'll only weaken her growth. If you keep protecting her then what's the point of this whole thing." Troy smirked. "Let's go Hero." he dragged me away. I took one glance and whip my head back around. If I even cried at how unfair this was, it'll give Troy even more reason to bash me.

But I didn't even get to say goodbye.

"How about you get to know your group Hero? You'll be spending quite a while with them."

"Why do you keep calling me that?"

"You are supposed to save everyone."

I can hardly save myself.

"How could I forget," I said dryly.

"Have fun!" he beamed, throwing me into a couple of people.

I pushed away. "Sorry."

"It is not a problem Luna." One of them answered. He was a bit taller than me and looked to be in his mid-twenties. He had sandy blonde and brown eyes with specks of blue in them. "My name Conner Shay, and this is my brother Vincent Shay."
