"I accept! And this time, not even your Mother's worthless tears will save your pathetic life." He avowed as he peeled his shirt off. Revealing a perfectly built chest, huge muscles just like mine. By now I would have lurched at him like a wild cat but for the words of Gabriel. My Beta.
"Uncle Walker." I called before tossing the grenade at him. "I want a fair fight and if it isn't, you know what to do." I ordered without a glance at him. He was the only one I could trust with the grenade for I knew Alpha Jason could try and play dirty. I also knew somewhere deep down, a tiny part of Uncle Walker wouldn't hesitate to launch the grenade if it comes to it.
I returned my full focus on Alpha Jason, His eyes had already transformed into bright yellow, long canines baring in the warm air and claws protruding from his fingers.
"You son of a traitor!" He growled one more time before his bones started to wrench, his legs started to grow into hind legs, his clothes were gradually peeling off his body, his face slowly morphing into a snout.
In haste, I began my transformation too. My trousers ripped off my hairy hind legs, my arms transformed into fore legs while my palms became paws.
In a flash minute, our clothes were totally off our bodies and we had become wolves. I had morphed into Lupus. A stunning Black furred wolf relatively bigger in comparison with Alpha Jason's brown wolf.
This time I let Lupus take the reins, he was more powerful and tactical compared to me.
The moon light glistened on our bodies and the crowd watched in bewilderment as both of us growled. Taking stealthy steps with our paws as we encircled about each other.
Soon, Alpha Jason made the first move. Aiming his jaw for my neck but with Lupus's speed, I outran his set of teeth. Briskly aiming for his right hind leg. My canines buried deep into his leg and in return, the Alpha howled in pain. I could taste his disgusting blood that baptised my tongue. Nevertheless, Lupus relented not. Trying hard to dominate him as my claws buried into his guts and my jaw thirsting for his neck.
Things took another turn this time, Alpha Jason too had successfully given a major damage to my left fore leg with his powerful jaw. We both whimpered as we separated, encircling ourselves even when our wolves were critically injured. The aching pain shooting from my leg and other injuries became to unbearable for me. Causing me to inadvertently revert to my human form.
Alpha Jason had done same too. Both of us staggering under the moonlight with blood seeping out of our injuries. Regardless, we launched at each other. Grabbing our necks, both hands with our glowing yellow eyes telling just how much we thirsted to kill each other. Alpha Jason's hold began to suffocate me. His pressure seemed to be overpowering mine as my breaths ceased. My strength was gradually fading and my hold on his neck reducing. But then I remembered my Father, how he had fallen to the sword of the Lycan.
As he thudded to the ground from my release, eery silence descended amongst the crowd. Some had their mouth agape, some had tears but overall, I knew they were struck dumbfounded.
As my eyes streamed across the crowd. Our eyes met. Tears soaking her beautiful honey eyes, her jaw dropped while her long dark hair glistened under the moon light. Dancing to the tunes of the wind. Her fair skin shone like the sun. I could hear her breaths, her heartbeat. I could feel the instant divine connection between us.
I didn't need any witch or even Lupus to tell me the truth.
I've found my mate!
I tried to make a move but my injuries stung deep. I continued to stare at her beautiful face that described nothing but disappointment until my vision turned hazy. My legs failed me and my eyes slowly closed as I crashed to the ground.
