Our drive was a silent one as we journeyed in the dark, past forests and twigs. I for one, kept on shivering and praying to the moon goddess my mate should be safe. Gabriel on the other hand, chose to maintain silence perhaps not to infuriate me further.
I marched on the brakes instantly causing the Jeep to halt abruptly.
"What's wrong?" Gabriel asked but I alighted from the vehicle, trying to trace the honey scent the wind shove on my face earlier before. I could feel it, she was nearby. She was in great pain, crying and helpless. I could feel everything all.
"Seriously Kevin, what's going on?!" Gabriel queried again as he joined my side.
"I found her." I muttered and without thoughts, I ran with the highest speed my wolf could give. Brushing past branches, crunching twigs, storming against the solemn wind till I arrived a clear area. A red car parked in front of an old building.
"The Alpha is here!" Jerry's minions screamed, only then did I realize there were five of them growling at me with glowing golden yellow eyes.
The anger within me rekindled like brimstone fire, my fingers elongated into long black claws, my eyes morphed into a threatening golden yellow. My nose flared while my ears elongated into a thinner shape. I lurched at them without mercy. Ripping the head of the first, pulling out the heart of the second, breaking the neck of the third while the other two, ran away.
I smashed the door open, walking in like a predator I was. My eyes exclaimed while it reverted back to it's Hazel. My claws retracted too as Jerry swiftly clung unto my mate. Holding a knife to Claire's throat.
"If you move from that position, I assure you I'll slit her throat." He threatened but I cared less about what he sputtered. Claire's tears and pain was all that mattered. Her eyes were red from sobbing, her body looked pale and weak. I wasn't even sure if she could speak properly. I listened to her breaths, they were receding. Her heart wasn't faring so well either. She was dying. My mate was dying.
"Wanna know what I did to her?" Jerry's devilish laugh broke my focus. "Wolfsbane is currently running through her system like blood and very soon, she'll die from this poison." He laughed again, pressuring the knife to her neck.
"I actually planned on tasting her body, you know." He bellowed as his right hand fondled her breast. Grabbing them mercilessly while she whimpered.
"But then you came to ruin that fun now."
I trotted faster than the winds towards him. Pulling him away from Claire before smashing him to the wooden wall. The walls collapsed to the ground but I cared less. I pounced on him like an hungry lion, delivering severe death blows to his face. As blood coated my knuckles, I recalled Rose's words but they weren't enough to stop me.
I wanted to stop but at the same I didn't.
"Kevin." Claire's voice held me back from delivering the final blow to his disfigured face. I turned to her, lying helplessly in Gabriel's arms while my eyes reverted back to it's Hazel. I trotted towards both of them, crying like a child. She was going to die if I didn't do something. I carried her in my arms before facing Gabriel.
"Call Uncle Walker, he knows what to do." I mumbled while I walked towards our vehicle.
"Hold on Claire. You'll be fine, I promise." I said in a voice which lacked conviction. I stared at her sweaty face one more time, her eyes were barely opened even her breaths weren't doing so well either.
I only prayed to the mood goddess, to save my dear mate's life.
