He heaved an heavy sigh.

"The Moon goddess must love you so much to have mated you with my daughter." He mumbled but his words only irritated me further. Thanks to my mate, I would have ripped his throat out.

"I said shut up!" I ordered again.

"As you wish, Wolf of Justice." He answered while he inched closer to me. To be honest, if we went head to head I would end up dead. I might be the Wolf of Justice but the Lycan will still triumph. He was nothing less than a millennial year old wolf. His experience and raw wisdom far overshadows me.

"Why?" I asked after several minutes of deliberation. "My Father was innocent, he would never dream of hurting anyone or even committing a crime but yet you executed him publicly." I muttered while tears trickled across my cheeks. I stopped struggling against Claire's grip, perhaps due to our mate bond.

"Trust me, Kevin. It wasn't a moment I am proud of." He muttered with sincerity blooming in his tone but I didn't want to believe. I didn't want to be this calm, I wanted his head off his body but Claire wouldn't let me.

"Why?" I asked as another warm tear graced my cheek. "Why did you kill him?"

He heaved another sigh and for the first time, his gaze peeled off mine. In those blue eyes, faint pain dawned and it confused me.

"Talk before I snap your head!" I roared as another tear trickled.

"Kevin please." Claire whispered behind me but how could I be calm? For twenty years I had been kept in the dark regarding my Father's death. And now that I could get the answer from the horse's mouth, nothing came forth.

"And it was a mistake." Aunt Flora chorused as she walked amidst injured men wincing in pain alongside my mother.

I frowned. What did she mean by a mistake? From the way she sounded, it looked like she's recalled her memories. Her eyes clearly told of truth I definitely didn't want to hear but I listened regardless. Still holding the Lycan while they stopped inches away from me.

"Twenty years ago, We lost the Luna of Lunas to the cold hands of death." Aunt Flora started. "Luna Elsa, The Lycan's mate."

My eyes briefly reviewed Claire, who was rigidly consumed in more shock. She had once told me, her father never told her what caused her death. And now we were about to find out, I dearly hoped it wasn't connected to my Father.

"She died in Greenville. Her Pack."
