"Jesus Christ girl, calm down. Since when you started worrying about Axil?" A suggestive smile pulled at her lips.
I rolled my eyes and pushed her off the bed, laughing as she tumbled onto the ground with an oomph.
"Bitch!"
"This bed is for this sick patient. You're not allowed on it."
She got up and glared at me, "you're not even sick."
I coughed and blinked up at her pitifully, "can't you see I'm struggling!"
Now it was her turn to roll her eyes. She huffed and sat down in the chair beside the bed, "dramatic ass. Axil is out right now trying to settle the mass confusion amongst everyone. He's also trying to save as many of the petrified wolves as he can."
"The ones trapped under stone?"
She hummed, "mhm, sadly not many of them survived. Some were injured before they were turned to stone, and they didn't get a chance to heal so they died upon being released. Some also died while under the stone and the few that survived are currently being brought into the hospital for treatment. That's all I know so far."
"So, what about Tiana?"
Liza shrugged, "I saw them take her away, but I don't know where."
The place fell into silence as I sat there, contemplating.
Liza cleared her throat and met my gaze steadily, "Well, forgetting about all of that for now, how are you? You're the one who did most the work so I'm worried."
I shrugged and rubbed my hand unconsciously, "I'm the same as usual. My energy is slowly coming back. How long was I out?"
"It's been three days. Are you sure you're fine? If I had known saving Axil's people would have put you at risk y'know I wouldn't have been so quick to help out right?"
I frowned at the look on her face and waved my hand dismissively, "no need for regrets. We both know I'm not one to listen to you anyway. I chose to help because I wanted to."
She deadpanned, "way to hurt a girl's feelings."
I laughed.
"We're staying at Axil's brother's house for now by the way. Until Axil gets our house fixed, there's not much else we can do."
"Axil's brother?" I asked in surprise.
An infatuated smile crossed Liza's lips, "giiiiirl he. is. massive. Like hands down the most handsome and muscular dude I have ever met, and he can step on me."
I covered my face in embarrassment and shook my head, aware that we weren't alone right now, "you don't say those stuff in public!"
Liza laughed, "we're the only ones in the room."
"Cause that's where you belong," I retorted, waving my hand dismissively and severing the connection I made.
Their images slowly faded away. Just before they left, Ego smiled mischievously, "I hope to be of service again Ms. Prophet."
I froze at that and narrowed my eyes at where they once stood.
"Huh? Prophet?" Liza questioned.
"It's nothing," I replied tiredly, laying back in bed and gazing up at the ceiling.
"Don't you think you were a bit harsh on them?"
I snorted, "showing weakness to a demon is the same as getting yourself killed. They'd kill their own just to satisfy their own selfish desires. So never trust a demon."
"Foreshadowing right there but noted. Amma go get the-"
Slam!
The door to the room slammed shut, startling both Liza and I. We turned to see a little kid leaning against the door and breathing roughly as if she had just run a marathon. She looked around 4 years old with lightly tanned skin and black shoulder length hair.
In her hands was a stone being clenched tightly as her panicked filled eyes scanned the room in fear. When she noticed Liza and I, she hugged the stone tightly and leaned against the door.
