Why was this happening to me?
I glanced over at Liza, who was in the chair beside my bed sleeping and slowly eased myself off the bed and creeped my way into the bathroom, silently closing the door behind me.
I approached the mirror over the sink and looked at my dull appearance. Dark brown eyes stared at each other with dark circles beneath them, blood continued to drip from my ear. I turned on the sink and washed my face and then took a piece of toilet paper to wipe at the blood that came from my ear. Luckily, the bleeding had already stopped.
After that, I brushed my teeth and released my hair from its bun. Searching through the bag of necessities that Liza brought me, I pulled out a comb and brush along with my edge control then began combing through my hair. This time, I placed my hair in two buns on either side of my head and made sure to perfectly style my edges. After I finished, I wrapped my hair with a black, silk head wrap then took a quick shower. After I got out of the shower, I wore a regular pair of jeans and a black baby t-shirt. I clasped my silver name chain around my neck and placed the silver knubs in my ear. I also added a slight touch of makeup to my face to bring back a little life into them.
After I was ready, I came out of my room to find Liza still sleeping in her uncomfortable position in the sofa that was pushed up against the wall.
I approached her silently and swiped her hair out of her face to gaze at the peaceful look that she's always had since we were young. I was jealous of that look.
I sighed and pulled my hand back.
I waved my hand above her figure and called forth the dormant energy that had just finished replenishing itself. Watching as a stream of white mist was released from my hand as it blanketed Liza's body and gently lifted her up from the couch and placed her on the bed that I recently occupied. She instantly curled into herself and got comfortable. I went and placed the sheet over her body as the ac in the room was cold.
I turned to the table stand that was on the side of the bed and wrote on a piece of paper that I was out with Axil and that she shouldn't worry about me. Then I took up my phone, shoved it in my back pants pocket then opened the door to the room.
Outside, I met a police officer standing beside the door. He turned to me when I came out and I smiled awkwardly in greeting, "Axil placed you here, right?"
The officer nodded his head in agreement.
"Can you tell him to meet me outside the hospital?"
The officer's eyes glazed over for a slight second before he focused on me again, "he's on his way."
I nodded in thanks then left to meet Axil at the front of the hospital.
I stood outside for about ten minutes before a silver car pulled up in front of me. I jumped in surprise and stared at Axil who sat behind the steering wheel.
"W... What is this? You can drive!?" I exclaimed in disbelief.
Axil flashed me a smirk as he got out of the car, coming around to face me, "It was easier for me since Abel and I can exchange memories with each other. What he experienced is the same as what I experienced so it wasn't hard for me to pick up on a lot of things."
I shook my head.
He nodded in understanding with a look that said he expected that and reached into the car to pull out a paper bag.
"I brought sandwiches from home. One of the town elders made them for me."
"Home?" I asked curiously.
He smiled, "I'm staying at Abel's home."
I nodded in understanding and took the bag from him, "thanks."
"I'll take us back to the clearing from last time. One second," he muttered as he suddenly began to strip in front of me.
I looked around in surprise to see if there's anyone around us before shaking my head in exasperation, "you guys really have no sense of privacy," I muttered to myself, turning my back on him.
