Her familiar scent of peppermint tickled my nose and made me relax more into her. This was my peace.
I've made up my mind.
No more tears.
I pulled myself together and wiped at my tears as I laughed mockingly at myself, "I've been crying like an idiot for a while now," I mumbled.
Liza's face softened as her hand came to pat my back gently, "it's good that you're finally letting it all out. This is the first time I've seen you cry since you were adopted into our family."
I nodded at her and wiped at my tears, pulling out of her embrace as my heart hardened in resolve.
"You're going to need training," I muttered to myself as my mind began to scatter towards what's ahead of us.
"Train?"
I nodded, "yes, to protect yourself. I think I can make a few trinkets that could be used for protection... and your combat skills will need improving. We have a lot to do," I continued muttering to myself as Liza watched me with a lost look on her face.
I glanced across to meet her eyes, "before we could start all of this though... I think it's time I finally tell you the truth about my origins and what happened to me."
Liza's eyes lit up in excitement as she turned her full attention to me.
I took a deep breath and began explaining everything from the beginning, like I had done with Axil.
Liza listened attentively and never once interrupted me as I spoke, allowing me to get everything off my chest. After I had finished speaking, the room descended into silence, and I looked at the many emotions that flashed across Liza's face.
Her lips suddenly turned into a frown as her jealous voice sounded, "you have blood sisters? quadruplets!?"
"..."
That was all she got from that!?
A yelp escaped my lips as a sharp pain collided with my little legs, causing me to fall back on my butt with an oomph! My leg throbbed as I reached forward to rub at the area, a frown blanketing my face.
"That hurts," I muttered begrudgingly.
"Ezmira," a stern voice sounded out as I struggled to get back up on my aching feet.
I glanced lazily over at the woman in question.
Beautiful.
My body froze as I suddenly sensed incoming danger and turned my attention back to the fight, only to find a foot flying right at my head. I cried out in surprise and placed my hands in front of me to block the blow just as it arrived and knocked into me.
I stumbled and grunted at the pain as my hands throbbed at blocking the terrifying blow. I shook them slightly to find that they had began to turn numb.
Elysia raised her fists to continue the fight.
"Enough."
I sighed in relief as mother's voice sounded out and collapsed onto the solid crystal flooring.
I tried to control my heavy breathing as I wiped at the sweat that dripped down my face.
That was a workout.
As the adrenaline died down, I began to feel the aches that travelled throughout my weary body from the fight. Elysia came up to me and held out a hand, a smile decorating her face, "you did good right up until you got distracted."
